Just finished Part One of the book and this has quickly become one of my favorite things to read. I'm so proud of Birdalone for becoming free from the Witch-wife, I just hope that the real world isn't too cruel to her., sometimes you're better with the devil you know.

I can't help but remain cautious of the Wood-wife Habundia. Why would the With-wife not wait for Birdalone at the shore near the Eyot?

The prose is extremely rich, I'm enjoying taking my time with this. Somehow I'm keeping up, though I would never be able to replicate/mimic the writing.

The relationship between Birdalone and the Witch-wife... its a little relatable in an odd way.

Love the deeper explorations we're getting for Tom. Excited to find out how Navidson gets out of his current predicament

After a very long break, I have re-read everything from the beginning.

Becoming totally engrossed whenever I pick the book up and losing entire evenings. My absolute favorite parts at the moment are the Explorations.

The beginning aside from Johhny was.. Ew..
Zampano refernces himself, which is funny.
127 referenced before 126?
pg.114 foreshadows the book becoming labyrinthine soon.
Starting pg.119 ref.144 is like a hole piercing the pages. The book is losing its mind as much as Halloway.
pg.122, is something in there?! or is it Halloway? Does time bend like space???

Ch. 6 was short. Not sure what to think about the monster haunting Johnny.

Ch. 7 Navidson v Halloway, Explorations are fascinating.
✓ on pg.97? Letters pg609. I understand Navidson's frustration/worry at being overshadowed. Karen & Wax...

Ch. 8 SOS has me scared. If explorers get lost, Navidson can't do this alone. His obsession will kill him. Hes lost his family already. Curiosity killed the cat.

Finsiehd Ch.5 + additional reading of the letters left to Johnny Truant (Lièvre?) by Mommy. Felt like a whole chapter in and of themselves. His childhood is so upsetting... Losing his mom at age 8 then again at 17, and losing his father at age 10. I'm beginning to understand why Johnny is the way he is. Deciphering the May 8th 1987 letter took awhile, it was equally enthralling and disturbing.

Just finished Chapter 5.

The children are keeping the parents grounded. They have opposite coping mechanisms, straining the relationship. The starting section about echoes had me out of my depth until it linked back to the house. I am afraid of the childrens naïvety getting them into deep trouble.

Exploration A was thrilling, I was thanking the lord by the end and cussing out Navy for being so reckless and LUCKY.
