This book is getting so good, though not as good as Phantasma. Rowan and Genevieve have not been the hunters yet, but they just got safety from the next round. Rowan said to her, “‘We won that token, you know. We get to sit out this round’” (Smith 324). Genevieve is also finally starting to trust Rowan more which is good.

So far in this book I really like it, except the main character Genevieve is annoying. She is not trusting the male main character Rowan. Rowan says to her, “If you refuse to trust me, that’s exactly what you’ll be doing” (Smith 117). The story has a very interesting and unique plotline though, and next I think that they are going to be the hunters in the game of Enchantra.

I am very happy with how the plot and character development is going, and there are so many twists. They just finished level five of phantasma, and Ophelia is becoming more trustworthy in herself, “‘You’re distracting me. I’ve got this’” (Smith 404). Next I think, with the help of Blackwell, Ophelia is going to win the trials, and beat Phantasma.

In this book Ophelia has entered a game called Phantasma. There she meets a phantom, named Blackwell, who makes a deal with her to help her throughout the trials and in return she will help find him a way out of Phantasma, except the price if she fails is big. Blackwell says to her, “‘If you fail one decade of your life span will be transferred to me’” (Smith 101). I think next she will learn about her powers more.

They're lots of twists that have happened in this book which have made me very surprised. We've been introduced to a new character who is a seer and she is very important. Elysia, the seer, just had a vision, "'There's a storm coming.' Elysia declares" (243 Rafferty). Which was very important for the group to know so they could be prepared. Next I think the mermaids will end up dying because of a vision Delilah saw.

Everyone is very sad because they were all betrayed by someone who they thought was their friend in the last book. "It used to be a joyous sight, one that felt welcoming as it urged you inside with its promise of laugher and light. Now it's nothing more than rooms and halls that contain haunting memories (Rafferty 21). Delilah Thought that when she came across her home. I think next they find help from other people.

One quote I liked from this book was, "Duality is the promise of life, and change. Everything that exists within the universe must be balanced, equal to its counterpart" (Rafferty 310). One plot development I was surprised about, was when everyone turned on the main character, Delilah. Soon in the book the protagonists will definitely go find Delilah's mother, because they just learned she is in danger.

A quote that I liked is from page 6, "I will do anything to save this world. Anything." My main reaction from the plot development was that I was surprised, especially with old characters coming back. I predict that the main character will find her mother soon.
