In this book, the main character, Ellie is described, "Ellie felt a similar tightness in her chest, the one that always appeared when she was forced to confront the possibility that she might be wrong" (Fipps 78). I like Ellie as a character because I feel like I want to help her gain self confidence and be a friend for her. I think soon Ellie is going to realize she dosen't have to be perfect.

In this book, one of the main characters, Camino Rios shows determination. For example, "I will fight for my future, no matter who tries to stop me." This is something Camino says that i think is really inspiring because it shows how she is persistant and empowered. I think Camino will keep up the positive outlook on life and will have a bright upcoming future.

"He must have realized his laugh was like one of those paper shredders making a sad confetti of my hopes" (Acevedo 15). This quote shows a lot about the main character Yaharia Rios and how she is a sensitive person. When a tragedy strikes she is in a vulnerable and sensitive state, but I expect her to develop as a character and to become more aware and wise as she goes through this rough patch .

Sarah Mai, the main character explains, "See, that guy doesn't care. He doesn't worry if people think negatively about him" (Mai 105). This quote shows Sarah Mai doesn't care what other people think of her and will continue to be herself. So far I like Sarah as a character, but i find that i am not relating much to her. The next thing I think is going to happen is Sarah and her boyfriend getting back together.

Sarah Mai, the main character, is starting her first year of college. A quote that shows her character is, "I took some A.P.S...but i still have to do my math and science credits, and a language. I did Spanish in high School, just not A.P. I didn't realize that was going to be a problem" (Mai 64). This reveals Sarah is nerdy and an overthinker. I think She is very interesting and will have something big happen soon.
