Katie Wall is on page 298 of 416 of My Fault (Culpable, #1)
In My Fault, Noah and Nick’s relationship has grown deeper, but it has also become more complicated. Noah is stuck between loving Nick and also wanting to be free. She says that “When you’re tied too tightly to someone...it hurts when you break free, but it’s either that or you’re trapped forever. And I’m one of those who’s trapped forever” (Ron 294). This makes it seem like she is going to hurt herself either way.

Katie Wall is on page 132 of 416 of My Fault (Culpable, #1)
So far in My Fault, the story focuses on Noah leaving her old life and moving to California with her mom. She feels overwhelmed by how much everything has changed. She shows this when she says, “I couldn’t stop asking myself how we’d ended up like this… the terrible news that would change my life forever” (Ron 132). This shows how suddenly her life changed, and I feel like things may get even harder for her.

Katie Wall is on page 280 of 416 of One of Us Is Lying (One of Us is Lying, #1)
As I have continued to read, the mystery has become more intense. Bronwyn, Nate, Addy, and Cooper are under pressure as more details about Simon’s death are revealed. As tension keeps growing, more trust is being broken, and it’s clear no one is innocent. "You find out who your real friends are when stuff like this happens” (McManus 215), which makes me think the truth will cause more drama throughout this book.

Katie Wall is on page 130 of 416 of One of Us Is Lying (One of Us is Lying, #1)
The beginning of One of Us Is Lying by Karen McManus is slow, because it focuses on describing the charactersand the mystery behind them. It follows Bronwyn, Addy, Nate, and Cooper after Simon dies in detention and shows how each of them is hiding something. This idea brought up when Simon says, “Everybody’s got secrets…Right?” (McManus 131). I think that one of the secrets will come out and make everything worse.

Katie Wall is on page 260 of 336 of If He Had Been With Me (If He Had Been with Me, #1)
The book is still slow and predictable, but things are finally getting more interesting as Autumn and Finny start to reconnect. The moment Autum gives him her story, it shows how much she’s been holding in: “I put the pages in his hands and tried not to think about what he might see in them” (Nowlin 260). I predict that as the story moves on, Autumn will confess her feelings, but at the worst time possible.

Katie Wall is on page 130 of 336 of If He Had Been With Me (If He Had Been with Me, #1)
The beginning of this book has been slow-paced. Autumn focuses on her family, friends, and Finn. She talks about how close they were growing up and how things changed in high school as they joined different friend groups. On page 12, she says, “Somehow we weren’t friends anymore. It wasn’t a choice. Not really”, showing their distance. I predict Autumn and Finn will grow closer, and she will express her feelings.

Vianne continues to survive Nazi occupation while keeping her daughter safe, but everything changes when her Jewish friend, Rachel, is persecuted. Through heartbreaking choices, Vianne faces the war’s harsh truth. Meanwhile, Isabelle continues to risk her life rescuing pilots, while saying, “It is better to be bold than meek" (Hannah 150). This makes me think Isabelle may get caught, forcing Vianne to save her.

At the start of The Nightingale, we meet two sisters, Vianne and Isabelle, living in France during World War II. Vianne tries to protect her daughter, Sophie, as German soldiers occupy Carriveau and move into their home. Isabelle, on the other hand, is brave and rebellious. She risks her life delivering letters and fighting for what she believes is right by refusing to stay silent under the Nazi rule (Hannah 100).
