This moment stood out to me when TJ decided to support Ady even though she was the reason he got punched. This is because he felt sorry for her, as the whole school was hating on her and trashing her locker, and he felt bad for her.

This moment that stood out to me was when Addy finally realizes hw much she has changed and decides she won't let anyone control her anymore, especially after everything that's happened with Jake, because it shows her becoming stronger and more confident. This moment feels important; it's not about the murder but about figuring out who she is, she without someone telling her what to do.

This book is connected to Pretty Little Liars when all the characters started hiding secrets and acting suspiciously. Just like in that show, everyone seems guilty at some point, which makes the mystery more intense.

Right now in my book, Rashad has been wrongly accused of stealing. I’m starting to think the story will show how bias and prejudice affect everyone because different characters are reacting in very different ways. I’m noticing how Quinn is struggling with what he saw at the store. It makes me wonder if he’ll find the courage to speak up for what’s right.

I think I don't relate to anyone in this book yet because I haven't experienced racism and I also haven't faced police brutality before. But I think I could relate to Rashad later in the book because I have dreams and goals to make history in Cherokee Trail High School.

I can visualize when "the monster changed the shape of its hands even further, making the nest of leaves Conor was lying on even more comfortable" (Ness, page 191). The most vivid sense is touch, because we can almost feel the softness of the leaves. Patrick Ness uses this sensory detail to show Conor's exhaustion and the monster's strange comfort.
