A wrenching story of disease and the havoc it wreaks on a family. Genova's characters are well-developed and I was full of admiration and sympathy for Joe. My one criticism was that "HD" was on every page. My initial thought is that I didn't need to be reminded of the book's villain on every page. Perhaps it was the author's way of making the reader empathize with victims of the disease and it's inescapability.
