stench- talking about the Auschwitz camps- negative
aroma- more nice
acutely aware- more positive rather than saying, I am not aware, my feelings don't matter
cringe- a more negative kind of embarrassing feeling

The style is formal, and her tone is very simple and direct, but she also demonstrates sympathy. She uses very complex language, indicating she has a lot of knowledge

The way they talk about the people in prison can make it challenging for sister Helen, because it can make her scared, and she is also sending letters advising him while he is in prison

I think the author is credible, but only to an extent. Her interpretation of the case is based on how she practices her religion. Her beliefs in God influence her understanding of Patrick Sonnier.

I chose this nonfiction book because I am interested in law and the justice system. Since a nun is involved, that is another thing that drew my attention, because I am catholic. I am interested to see how my interests and religion are in one book.

Currently, my cousin is running for City Council in Des Moines, and as a family, we have gone to support events that he has hosted and we have helped him with different campaign orders. Not just with my family, but his friends have helped too, as well as him gaining more people's votes, we have all come together as a community to support him.

The cyclist's song relates to the theme of the book of not always knowing what will happen. In the book, there are a lot of what-ifs and many uncertainties. Like at the beginning with string lengths, what happens happens because you don't know where your life will lead you.

I think with the type of person I am, I wouldn't have reacted that way. It can get frustrating when you and someone else don't agree on something.

I would prioritize spending time with my family and my loved ones. I appreciate how the Italians prioritize family. I would also try traveling to more places even if my string was long, because I would want to see different places.

I think short stringers are not like other minority groups because they are just people being put together just because of this new information about strings. Yes, they may struggle with how much time they have left, but not all of them are crazy murderers like Anthony says they are. I think they should fight for their rights because it will make them more united and say that not all short stringers are the same.

I would do what Hank did only because he knew that it would save someone else's life, knowing that he would live longer, and Hank was already on the verge of dying within the same year.

I would not be mad at my parents because they are just worried about my health and making sure that the situation I am in, and the medical team, is doing what is best for me.

I would not open my child's box without their permission because that is their right to know. Considering they received the box at 22 years old. They are adults, and they have the right to keep their string length private.

Hank deals with his string in a good way because he focuses on making the most of the time he has left. He deals with it the same way as Ben, but also in a different way. The same because they both don't share their string length, Ben with his parents, and Hank with Anika. They also understand that their strings are a complicated matter, as they both have shorter strings.

Since I personally am religious, I do believe in miracles. Just a way of God answering your personal prayers. Now I know not everyone is religious, but I personally do believe in miracles. An example of a miracle could be being cured from a really bad disease

I would test it little by little and see if it gets shorter. Maybe by doing some stuff and slowly increasing the adventures and seeing if it affects my string or it stays the same. Then it allows me to do stuff knowing it will not affect how much time I have left in my life.

Maura doesn't like to talk about the box situation because ever since she opened it shes been more quiet and observant. she only joined the group because Nina kept insisting on her joining, and she hates admitting when Nina might be right. Aime is also nervous about opening the box because she is scared for what the future holds.

I have noticed that nina is very much more overprotective over the box and she has a lot of anxiety just thinking if she should open the box where as Ben is much more relaxed and wants to open the box. Nina believes more in waiting until the time is right and Ben is more impatient. Also I have noticed it could be because of their partners personality that could be affecting if they open the box or not.

If I were to receive a box knowing how much time I have left I would open it because I would want to know how much I had left so I could enjoy my life while it lasted, and do stuff that I always wanted to do before I run out of time.
