I think the biggest symbolism portrayed in 1984 is the ability to see big brother everywhere; posters, cards, coins, and much more. His image has been ingrained in every person in London and even beyond that. The huge eye always looking at the people always watching always listening represents just how monitored and bound to the government everyone is forced to be.
