The author's main goal is to inform the reader about a vital and important movement that took place in the United States when segregation and racism were still prevalent. The author has been informing me about many struggles and obstacles that the protestors have been going through so far, and what's to come.

This book had a great prologue, which influenced my decision to continue reading. It had a lot of emotion and conflict that made the reader want to continue to find out what happens next. I think this'll be a good book!

A time that I have felt this kind of unity was when they held the FCA prayer for Lucy on the Football field. There were a lot of people all there for her, and it made people feel like they weren't going through it alone, and in my opinion, that's near peak unity

It's just a reminder to everyone that they can't change what will happen, but they shouldn't stress it; they should just live what they have left with the thought, whatever will be, will be.

If you're referring to the fight that Ben had in the recent chapters with the boy's harassing the short-stinged man, then yes, I would've handled it the same way, because no one should ever be treated that way, even if they had a long string. And that was someone he didn't even know. If it were someone that I cared about, I probably wouldn't have been as easy on them either, because family always comes first.

My priorities would be the same; I would continue to try to do things that make me happy, like my hobbies, I would continue going about my life with my family day-to-day, I would probably try to right any wrongs and make amends with anyone I hadn't made up with in the past, you know so that I can have a more positive imprint.

I feel like the short stringers are, in a way, treated somewhat worse than other minority groups, because they have actual laws in place against them, which is much different than just prejudice you'd see shown towards other minority groups. I feel like they should be able to fight for their rights because it's their life, even though it may be shorter, they should have the ability to live it to their fullest.

There is only one reason I would open my child's box, which is if their life were in danger. This is because no parent should have to lose their child, and it has got to be the worst feeling in the universe. I've seen this firsthand, and it ruins the life of the parents emotionally. I could not imagine the pain or trauma involved.

Anthony Rolloins seems like a snake. With his interests in mind, he's a little manipulative, like the headline "Country Elects President Who Will Die in Office." I don't like it, and he's not on my good character list as of right now

Hank seems like a good guy, but he might be mentally unstable. He might have some PTSD, and it might play a bigger role in the chapters later on, so it'll be interesting to see him develop throughout the book if he comes back.

If I had a long string, I wouldn't test anything, I would just try and live my life how I always had, but if I had a short string, I would probably live a much safer life. I can't say how, but I think my body and mind would force me into it.

Maura figured out that she doesn't have that long left, This makes Maura distressed. We meet Amie, shes oddly thrilled by the string's arrival. Shes a very imaginative person, I don't know how I feel about her yet. We also learn that if it isn't your time you can't die, shown by the newly wed couple. Nina now feels trapped by the strings and is very conflicted.

Nina is more freaked out by the strings and believes that opening the box could be dangerous and filled with pain, but not opening the box is killing her. Ben is more curious and inquisitive about the strings, but then again he had a short string, and is beginning to believe what he's been told about the strings

Personally if I had received a box, with my name engraved in the top. A box that everyone on the planet had received saying that "The measure of your life lies within" I'm not going to open it right away. I would wait around and see what the people had to say about their box, it's contents, and what it really meant.
