I chose this book because it talks about anorexia which is a part of mental disorders and what I want to research for my paper.

hippie, negative or positive connotation depending on the person's viewpoint of a 70's vibed person

The medium is a book, the genre is non-fiction. It is documentation on a girl with an illness.

I think the author's purpose for writing this book is to bring awareness to uncommon and invisible illnesses. A challenge to this is the stigma that society often has towards this type/category of medical issues. Many people judge individuals who battle these sorts of things, so she has to try to write them in a good light and try to reinvent how they see them.

My author seems to be qualified to write about this topic because they are very descriptive about it, and to be specific and go into detail, they would have to have a general understanding of it.

My book caught my attention because it starts with unusual things happening in the main character's life. Which hooked me because I wanted to know what caused the strange behaviors that she was getting. It's an intrequing mystery so far.

A time I felt unity was recently within the cheer team after Lucy's unexpected passing; everyone put their differences aside and banded together to help each other through a difficult time. We have all been there for each other.

The song relates to the theme because what will be will be, as there is no changing fate or altering the length of the strings; just because the strings exist does not mean that they can see the complete outcome of the future, just a rough length of their life.

If I knew I was going to die, my priority would be to make the most of the time I had left, like doing my favorite things or goals that I hadn't reached yet. Also, to spend time with the people I loved.

I agree that short stringers are like other minorities and should fight against the discrimination. They still have life left to live, even if it isn't as long as other people's and they should not be treated badly for the rest of it, which they had no control over in the first place. We don't treat people with a deadly disease badly just because they could die any day. Anyone could die at any time, until the strings

If I was a parent I would not open my child's box without their permission, because it untimely is their life so I feel they should get a say in the decision. Cause either way I'd love and treat them the same whether it was long or short, so I feel like it would not matter. Obviously I'd be sad if their string was shorter, but there isn't a way to fix it so...

My opinion on Anthony Rollins is that he isn't a good person. In the text on page 123 it say "... Rollins had ignited... something." He used the strings to sway peoples minds on candidates. This is not a morally good thing, it is discriminatory and unfair to those with a short string. He wants to use the public's fear to his own advantage.

Hank opens his box and finds it is short. Instead of freaking out and being upset like others, he accepts it with dignity. He tries to remain calm and share perspective with others. This shows that he is levelheaded and can make rational decisions even in tough times.

I do believe in miracles because of my faith. In the Bible there are many examples of miracles and I have also seen some in my own life. I know a baby who was born with a very rare form of cancer and had it removed and his parents decided not to do chemo because of its risks and now a year later his scans have all been completely free.

The incident will probably leave repercussions on Hank that make it hard for him to stay in his current position at work, because of his tie to the shooter. For society as a whole there will probably be lots of enforced regulations and stuff to prevent a repeat from happening.

In our society today there is lots of violence which ties into what we just read.

I think Nina is highly guarded after reading more. That she does not trust easily and that she is fearful of the unknown. She believes caution is good and will protect her.
I believe that Ben believes that the string is truthful and not a hoax. He thinks it is too elaborate to be man made. He is skeptical of it being fake, even though that would be relieving. In doing so he doesn't allow himself to build false hope.

If I got the box I would like to say I wouldn't freak out. I already know a long life is never a given and anything can happen to anyone at any time. I'd like to think that I would use my knowledge to better spend my last days. Do more spontaneous and joyful things if I knew the end was near. Take risks and love more.
