The setting of my book Divergent takes place in post-apocalyptic future Chicago.

Deep down, Tris misses her family deeply- despite her pretending it doesn't affect her. This is expressed through her impulsive desire for a tattoo that represents her family, because it's 1 of the only things she can do that relates to them, as she ignores her past hatred for tattoos. The text states: "'Want a tattoo?... 'Yes,' I say. 'Three of these flying birds.' One for each member of the family I left behind."
