I chose this book because I wanted to see what happens to the little boy and the whole story of what he saw when he was in the hospital. I want to do my writing over something with religion. The prolouge talks about what the little boy saw when he was in the hospital and how he talked to angels and sat on Jesus lap.

Sister Helen’s goal is to serve the poor which leads her to agree to become a pen pal and eventually a spiritual advisor to a death-row inmate, Elmo Patrick Sonnier. The obstacles she faces is that she has no background in working with prisoners, especially on death row. This makes her unsure of what to expect and how to help effectively.

A time I felt unity in our community was when there was a passing of a student in our grade. Our grade has came so much closer together because we all needed to be there for each other during a hard time like this

The cyclist song has to deal with a theme in the book of accepting what will be. Some things are beyond control and you have to accept the future and whatever it holds.

Yes the short stringers should stick up for themselves. They should be able to do everything that someone with a long string can do. I think that the short stringers are so angry that they aren't getting treated fairly so then they do those bad things

I would not look at my child's string if they didn't want me to. That is their own privacy and reading how it made Ben feel when someone looked at his without his permission, I would not want to make someone feel that way. I would respect what my child wanted.

He doesn't want anyone to know about his string so when Anika found out about it he gets really mad at her and then later gets really sad about the string. He then goes to a support group to get help.

I believe in miracles. I've never had a miracle happen to me but I know they have happened to other people. My uncle was in the hospital and they weren't sure he was going to make it but somehow he did. I think it's more of Jesus than just a miracle.

Hank will probably have PTSD and need to go to therapy or something. He will also probably feel guilty for not helping the patient and feel bad for those who died because of the shooters anger. It will affect the whole society because people will go crazy and have their opinions on the shooter. Some may feel for him. It relates to current events because there has been many shooting recently because people get upset.

If I had a long string I would be iffy about testing it. I would be scared to test it because who knows if it is right or wrong. If more people were testing it and the strings were right then I think I would be more interested in trying it as well.

When Maura found out about the box and the string inside and what it meant she instantly went to the bathroom and threw up because her string was short. She was very upset and scared. Amie hasn't opened her box to see the strings but she thinks the whole situation is thrilling.

Nina believes in logic over faith and Ben is more of a go with the flow. He knows his string is short but he knows there's nothing he can do about it so he just accepts it.

If I had a box to see how much longer I would have to live I would look at it. I would want to see how much time I have left to live because if it was a short amount of time I would want to go do all the things I've dreamed of it even if the string was long I would still want to go do all of those things but I would know that I have more amount of time to do it.
