This book started strong, toxic but who am I to judge these two?! I seem to have reached a plateau and can’t figure out where it’ll go from here.
Why is this book so long? Can anybody tell me if it’s worth to keep going?or if it’s just filler?

Halfway through Babel and I have complicated feelings. The language/translation influenced by power dynamics is fascinating especially as one whose opportunities were shaped by learning English.
But as one living in a developing country, I’m struggling with the book condescending treatment of survival and access to education and stability as selfish.
It is not a simple moral choice.
