Setting: The setting of the book right now is in this magical land that is like a second world. They are still trying to find their way around this world, because there are a bunch of weird animals around the world. It says on page 145, "I'm beginning to feel very inquisitive about these people," Whispered Eustace to Edmund. "Do you think they're human at all? More like huge giant grasshoppers or giant frogs."

Visualize: Right now I am visualizing a creature, and the book says he is sad and old. I am picturing him right now as a lonely creature that does not have many friends. Some text evidence of what he looks like, is on page 85. It says, "It moved very slowly toward the pool-slowly and with many pauses. Even in his fear Eustace felt that it was an old, sad creature." I wonder what his personality is going to be like?

Making Connections: This book reminds me of "The Witch and the Wardrobe," because they both are in the same series. They are both mainly about kids and magic, going to different worlds. One example of the kids going to a new world is on page 5. It says, "And of course they were talking about Narnia, which was the name of there own private and secret country. I am excited to find more things In common with the books.

Antagonist: The antagonist in the book right now is all of the students that are putting posted notes on each other's lockers and around the school. Even the teachers are getting posted notes sent to them. Some evidence of this is on page 207. It says, "I don't want to see any more of these in my class for any reason, do you understand?... We all nodded... I noticed a few people tucking yellow stacks in there bag."

Summary: This book takes place in a school, the main characters in this book are Bench, Deedee, Rose, and Wolf. They are in middle school trying to get to know things around the new school, dealing with some conflicts. Some text evidence in this book about conflict is, "This was middle school... everybody got teased by somebody sometime about something." I found this on page 4.

Setting: Right now in my book he is at school for most of the time going through his school day. He is in Ms. Sheers class right now and she is getting mad at different people because of a note getting passed around the classroom. For example, she said on page 207, "She melted In her seat while Ms. Sheers took the note from her... Did you write this?" I am waiting to see where they will go next.

Conflict: There are a lot of conflicts in this book so far, but two of them are his parents getting divorced and his friend Wolf. His parents are going through divorce and his friend Wolf is a little odd. For example, there is evidence on page 225. It says, "The day Wolf and I nearly blew up his house was the same day my parents divorce finally went through." These are some of the conflicts in the book so far.

One person that is a static character is Jigsaw. This is because he has always been a bad guy and has never changed. For example, he said "Finally my plan has worked, now I can take over the world." One person that is a dynamic character is The Hyena. She started off as a bad guy, but now that she has seen Jigsaw's plans, she Is a good guy. For example, Jackson said, "Jigsaw is only using you and he will destroy you.

CHARACTER V. CHARACTER: One of the conflicts in my story is The Hyena and Jigsaw. They are these two bad guys that keep getting in the way of his teams plans. For example, when they were rescuing this little girl The Hyena got in the way and threatened her dad. Jigsaw is creating a machine that is going to help him take over the world. Now Jackson and his team have to take out Jigsaw and The Hyena.

One of my predictions is that all the kids are going to find out Jigsaw's real identity. I think this because all of the kids are talking about Jigsaw and Jackson accidentally starts talking about his real identity. "On page 204 it says, "Competitive jigsawing? Jackson laughed... The nerds looked at him as if he were a soupy zucchini they found in the bottom of the crisper drawer." "Your not joking?"

The point of view in this story is 3rd person omniscient. I know this because in the text it talks about all of the characters feelings. For example, it says how the team feels about Jackson and how he needs to be more humble. This is why the story is 3rd person omniscient.

Jackson is the protagonist and he is trying to become a spy. He is feeling really nervous and he wears braces. The main focus of the book is Jackson becoming a spy and how he goes through the journey.

Currently in the book Nerds, Jackson is in this weird place. He got taken by a guy that seems like he is on a secret mission. He is asking him weird questions, like his code name and how strong he is. Then the two bookshelves start to enclose him. After that, out of nowhere there is this girl called the Hyena that saves him from the mysterious guy.
