SETTING: The book is place in a small town in New Jersey. The town is called Elm Hills. It is place in 1916. The main character works that a diner in Elm Hills. The town is next to a small creek. That is where he and his friends go to.

CLIMAX: The climax of book occurs when Stanley pull out the suitcase but then a lot of yellow spotted lizards came out.The text says,“ A lizard had crawled up on top of the suitcase.Its big red eyes glowed in the beam of the flashlight.Its mouth was open, and Stanley could see its white tongue moving in and out between its black teeth” (p. #204–205).This is important because Stanley was in a life or death situation.

MINOR: A minor character in this story is Stanley. This character is important because They help show the love for his friends. Stanley is one of the newest person at camp green lake.

Setting: Holes the book is put at a place called camp green lake. It is in the middle of Texist. It is a hot dester and they have to dig holes. So there is nothing for mils exseps holes

Setting: The setting in my book is Pompeii in AD 79. Pompeii is in the Roman Empire and it is a city with a lot of people. Pompeii is right next to a volcano. This is important because the volcano erupts and cover the city in ash. The city has poor people with lot of struggles.

INCITING INCIDENT: The story begins to change when Harry starts to get his powers. The text says, "Harry sat up and gasped; the glass front of the boa constrictor’s tank had vanished" ( 28 #). This matters because This leads to Harry going to Hogwarts, and This causes Harry to find his powers.

Archetypes: I think harry potter right now is a quest story. In the book harry potter is going to get his school stuff. It says in the book pg# 66 “Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. First-year students will require: 1. Three sets of plain work robes 2. One plain pointed hat for day wear 3. One pair of protective gloves 4. One winter cloak.” This shows that he has a quest to get his school stuff.

summary: In Harry Potter uncle Vernon want to move a way because harry ceeps getting a letter from someone, so the uncle wants to move away because he does not want harry to get those letters.

VISUALIZATION: I could picture Dudley in my mind while reading. The text says, “He had a large pink face,not much neck,small,watery blue eyes and thick blond hair that lay smoothly on his thick,fat head” (page 21). This helped me how fat he is and it made me feel that he is fat.

CONNECTIONS: “I Survived: The Titanic reminds me of when my family and I went on a cruise for spring break. The boat we sailed on was huge. The text says, “She’s the biggest moving object ever built,” “Almost twenty-five hundred passengers.” (Lauren Tarshis, page 26). When I read that, it reminded me of the ship we went on. If the exact same thing happened on our ship, it would have been my very own I Survived book.

CHARACTERIZATION: Harry Potter is a curious and brave character. Harry had to go against Whomping Willow because his friend Ron was dragged in by a dog. This proves that Harry is brave and has the courage to help his friend.

Antagonist: Harry Potters antagonist is Lord Voldemort. That's the beginning, when Voldemort wanted to kill Harry but his mom saved him. Another antagonist in the book are the Dementors. In the book it says "expecto patronum Harry yelled went the Dementos was getting closer"it says in page 383

DYNAMIC: So far, Harry is a dynamic character because he learns new spells at school and gets stronger. In school he learned to defend himself from Dementors with the spell that says “you need to think about happy memories and say expecto patronum(237-238 ). In a quidditch match Harry was attacked by a Dementor but he knew how to defend his self. In the beginning harry was attacked but he could not defend.

CONFLICT: Is character vs. thing and happens when Harry loses his broom. In the story it says, “Slowly, she reached down for a bag at her feet, turned it upside down, and tipped a dozen bits of splintered wood and twig onto the bed, the only remains of Harry's faithful, finally beaten broom stick”. This is what Harry is up against to get a new broom.

PREDICTION: I predict that Harry is going to get a new broom. In the story, when Harry is playing a quidditch match and he falls, sending his broom to the Whomping Willow. This tree is “a very violent tree” (Rowling 182). In quidditch, players need brooms, so Harry will have to get a new one to play. I think that he will get a new one from a person or a friend.

POV: The story is told from a third person limited point of view. In the story it says, “They had never heard Hermione to a teacher like that before” (106 ). This point of view adds to the story because it makes the story easier for the reader. The reader knows that we are always in Harry’s mind.
