True North (The Dragon and the Girl, #1)

Juliette Davis
Juliette Davis is on page 160 of 329 of True North (The Dragon and the Girl, #1)
Genre: the genre of the book is fantasy. In the story, dragons were supposedly killed off around the kingdom where the protagonist (Eliana) lives. The text even says "...dragons flew among the mountain peaks, caring for their young in caves..." (Evans, p. 1). Since dragons are mythical creatures that exist/existed in this world, this book would be a fantasy story.

Juliette Davis is on page 64 of 480 of Ready Player One (Ready Player One, #1)
Conflict: the conflict in this book so far is character vs character. The main character (Wade) is trying to win a hunt/competition within the OASIS where he and other people try to find different easter eggs within the game put in by the main developer of the game. Because he is competing against other people, it is character vs character.

Predictions: I predict either Wade, Aech (Wade's friend), or both of them will win the hunt/contest in the story. In page 45, Aech talks about someone who's not really knowledgeable about the hunt (who goes by I-r0k) and says, "...if most of the other gunters are out there are as clueless as I-r0k...that means you and I really do have a shot at winning the contest." Because they are smarter they could win.

Juliette Davis is on page 27 of 480 of Ready Player One (Ready Player One, #1)
Point of View: This book is being told in first person by Wade. When you read the first page, it says "I was sitting in my hideout watching cartoons when the news bulletin broke on my video feed...". The text uses words like "my," and "I," inferring that this book is being told in first person.

Protagonist: the protagonist of this book is a kid name Wade. We don't really know how old he is because all the book says so far is "Kids my age" (P.1). But we do know his name thanks to the "preview/about section" or whatever it's called that's usually on the back of the book. Not much has happened, but Wade likes video games.

Juliette Davis is on page 154 of 182 of My Secret War: The World War II Diary of Madeline Beck, Long Island, New York 1941 (Dear America)
SETTING: The current setting of this book is Long Island, New York, during 1941. The title shows the location and setting of the book and it is mentioned several times in the book that the characters are in the state of New York. It also shows the dates of Madeline's diary entries so we know what time the events in the book took place. Plus, World War II is heavily involved in the plot of the story.

GENRE: The genre of this book is historical fiction. You can obviously tell by the title of the book because it has "World War II" in it. You can also tell by the fact that the main character's father is fighting in the war, and also the fact that the war is involved in the main story. (if you're confused why I'm writing this, this was a class assignment)

So far I really enjoy this book. It shows the life of a girl from the 1940s experiencing World War II. I love reading about the many things going on in her life like her trying to find friends, to looking out for her father who's in the war. So far the main character (Madeline) has made friends (or maybe something more, who knows?) with a classmate named Johnny. She has also befriended a girl named Clara (I think).
