ARCHETYPES: The Hardy Boys series is mainly "The Quest" and "Overcoming the Monster". Frank and Joe set off to solve the mystery sometimes traveling to different countries or even continents. They face many obstacles like criminals or animals. This brings us to the second archetype, "Overcoming the Monster". Frank and Joe set out to defeat the antagonistic criminals, gangsters, cult leaders, and business figures.

POINT OF VIEW: This book is third person limited. This story is told by an outside narrator, but the narrator knows the thoughts and feelings of the main character, Callum. I know this because the main character (Callum) isn't using words like I, me, mine, or myself. I know the point of view is not third person omniscient because the narrator only knows the thoughts and feelings of one character.

SETTING: Murtagh takes place in a medieval era with magic. There are elves, humans, dwarves, and sorcerers. I do not know if this takes place on earth or a different planet or even a different dimension. In the scene Murtagh is in a village fighting in a dungeon to free a werecat. He discovers countless potions and elixirs. He also finds a dictionary that includes every single word of the ancient language.

CONFLICT: Murtagh has just been ambushed by Lyreth in a Tangle Box. They escape and Thron gets haunted by old memories of Galbatorix's dungeons. Murtagh has visited Bachel in the valleys. Bachel says that Thorn and Murtagh will save the world. They are currently feasting. I think that the conflict is this magical threat Bachel is talking about. Also, the world fears and hates so people attack and ambush them.

Inciting Incident: The inciting incident is when Eragon finds the dragon egg in the middle of the woods. The egg eventually hatches and out comes a baby dragon. He names her Sahpira. One day the Ra'zac attacks Garrow and kills him. This makes Eragon seek vengeance and he sets off to kill the Ra'zac.

ARCHETYPES: My book is a mix of overcoming the monster and the Quest. In this book Ron is an Spreader of the disease, Crown Royale(Monster). It takes away all negative feelings. All the Recoverees of this disease try to spread it. Non-Recoverees fight against it to create a vaccine (Quest). The Non-recoverees don't want the disease to spread because it will destroy the infrastructure.

SUMMARY:The main characters are Ron, Mariel, and Morgan. The story is about a virus that causes 24 in 25 people to lose all negative feelings. The three teens find themselves in the center of a power play that will change history forever. The book takes place in San Francisco, and London. The events of the book take place in an Airbnb, a street, and a university. The book is told as a chronological narrative.

VISUALIZE: The author is describing bullies firing spitballs at people. He is describing it with much detail. He is using words like moist and sticky. One scene was in an underground laboratory. The author describes the room as being a "large square room as big as a baseball field. The floor was decorated in multicolored ceramic tiles, and the ceiling was held a loft by dozens of marble columns."

MAKING CONNECTIONS: This book is text to book. I think this because it is similar to books like Maze Runner and Hunger Games. These books have a dystopian world where people live miserable lives in a controlled environment. In Unbound, kids live in fear of getting Unwound. The government is corrupt because of deception and social control. They trick the public into believing all unwinds are bad.

CHARACTERIZATION: Miracolina thinks that unwinding is unjust. She fights back by giving sanctuary to runaway unwinds (AWOLS). She works at a food drive and serves food to the poor. After her shift is over, she heads to the hideout and helps get Unwinds to the safe houses. She and an Unwind named Bryce discover that someone very close to her is a traitor and that he is turning in Unwinds to the police.

ANTAGONIST: The antagonist is the police and a character named Mason Starkey. The main characters (Connor and Levi) are on the hunt. They escaped the Graveyard and the police are hunting for them. Mason escaped the Graveyard with a plane, betrayed Connor, and killed hundreds of people. Mason is currently in a Salt Lake with 140 teens who survived the plane crash. They will start a rebellion against humanity.

STATIC vs. DYNAMIC: I think that the main character (Nic) is a static character. I think this because Nic's mentality doesn't change. All he wants to do is protect his family, his friends, and himself. He always tries to do the right thing. The way he views the world doesn't change. There's no character development because his actions, reactions, and motivations never change.

CONFLICT: Nic is battling vs a society (Praetors) and himself. He is fighting against a society of Roman Praetors that want to take his magic. Nic is also fighting against himself because he doesn't know who to save. He has to choose who lives between his best friend and his mother. He refuses to choose, then both will die and Rome will fall. The Praetors are forcing him to be a charioteer in a chariot race.

PREDICTION: Angelo and Hallie are saving the pigs on the field from the trapdoor spider. I predict that Angelo will get caught by the spider and get dragged underground and that his friends will save him. "I don't have time to waste thinking, so I speed after him, knowing that somewhere under my feet, the spider is doing the same thing."(pg. 161).

Point of View: My story is first person narrator because the main character (Angelo) uses words like I, me, and my. On page 225 it says, "'You know what?' I say,".

PROTAGONIST: The protagonist is King Jaron. He is roughly 19 years old. His thinking is very erratic. He is very unpredictable and smart. He has overcome many antagonists in the past. Some people think he is foolish and reckless. While others think he is wise and cunning. He has feelings for a woman named Imogen and they have been together for 3 years. They were planning a wedding.

SETTING: The story takes place in Medieval Times. It might've been in the 12th century. It takes place on land in a kingdom. One particular scene is when Prince Jaron gets crowned at night in the kingdom of Carthya. He reunites with his advisor, Kerwyn, and puts the traitorous Bevin Connor in jail for the murders of the previous King and Queen.

This book is bio-punk, science fiction fantasy, dystopia, adventure, and short stories. In an oppressive world controlled by a technological system, there are many short stories with many different main characters. In this world, death has been conquered and people can die and get revived. People can also genetically engineer themselves. This evidence supports my claim because all of the examples support my claim.

Scythe Goddard is nominated to be High Blade. Scythe Anastasia gets Goddard disqualified and Scythe Curie becomes the new High Blade.

Rowan has been captured and is being kept prisoner in Scythe Rand and Scythe Goddard's house to be tortured. There has been many attempts on Scythe Curie's life and the cause of them still remains unknown.

The main characters (Scythe Anastasia and Scythe Lucifer) are in a lot of trouble. Scythe Anastasia's life is being threatened. Scythe Lucifer is now an outlaw and he kills corrupt scythes.
