Connections: A part of the story relates to the Goldrush. In Dune, people monopolize on a material called Spice, which is valued for it's usage in both food and other basic needs. In the Goldrush, people would fight for gold because it sold for a lot. In the text of pg. 299 it says ""Truly a waste of spice" Chani sighed "An entire town could be far richer with just a little" this shows spice, like gold is valuable.

Characterization: The author introduces the personality of the character in conversations. In pg. 301 Lyra says ""And they put me in a van with some other kids and took me somewhere, a big building, I dunno where it was" Another sob shook her briefly, and she could pretend this one was caused by her story. She was doing something difficult yet familiar, namely lying." This shows how Lyra was actually good at lying.

(I read it the wrong order) Antagonist: The antagonist of story is the Monkey king. In the book, on pg. 234 Thom (the main character) says ""We must stop the fighting and join forces together" Thom yelled. She pulled out her cricket then looked up "It's the only way we could ever beat the Monkey king."" This is proof that the Monkey king is the enemy that the main character has to defeat.

Static vs. dynamic: A dynamic character in my story is Grace. After her dad died from cancer, she tried to kill herself, but later on had to accept it. Afterwards, she went to influence others about being strong during tough times. In pg. 244, near the end it says "She was-and still is an amazing person. I could write all day about those depressing days, but I could write all week about where she is now, New York."

Conflict-The conflict of my story is character vs. society. Throughout Jordan's journey to reach all of the 7 (8) summits, people questioned and mocked both him and his parents for letting a kid under 14 do something so dangerous. In pg. 297 it says "The media attention also brought out a barrage of critics who knew nothing about us or how hard we'd trained. All they saw was my age." This is evidence for my claim.

Predictions-I predict that Piper and Jim will find Mr. Matsui dead. Before Mr. Matsui died his wife died. In Pg. 239 it says "Pneumonia. She died this morning. Something's very wrong-it's snowing, yet Mr. Matsui is still gone. They're asking for volunteers for a search party, Jim and I were in a group together" This indicates that Mr. Matsui has probably died and Piper with CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT will find him.

POV-The POV of The diary of Margaret Ann Brady is the 1st person view of Margaret Ann Brady-the MC the story. During her life in the RMS titanic and a little afterward, she wrote in her diary using the words "I", "Me", and ect. In Pg. 162 it says ""Try to remember that, Margaret." I hoped, very much, that that was true...I thanked her one last time" this shows that this is the 1st person POV Of Margaret Ann Brady.

Protagonist-the protagonist of the Diary of Margaret Ann Brady is Margaret Ann Brady herself. Margaret is a British girl who lived in a girls only orphanage for most of her life. Later on she goes on the RMS Titanic as a staunch companion for Mrs. Carstairs-a rich American woman. In pg. 98 it says "Would you be Mrs. Carstairs's daughter...Mrs. Carstairs gasped; I grinned..."No I'm her staunch companion," I answered"

Setting: starting from pg. 5 the setting was in the Mirror Lake Internment camp, dating back in 1942. One scene was when the characters were concerned with two questions I pg. 128 saying "No one knows what will happen if you answer yes to both questions or what will happen if you answer no...Kenny's father says that Japan is the only place they'll be safe." This scene shows the people's mistrust in the government.

The genre of this book is historical and realistic fiction. The book's main plot was about a real life person named Ben Uchida's P.O.V of his life in the Mirror lake internment camp. Key factors, such as Mirror lake or Ben Uchida are real places and people are pieces of evidence that this was a historical genre.

Currently I've finished reading on pg. 54 today and started reading on pg. 38. Most of the story in between those pages was about the MC-Ben Uchida in the mess hall eating with a friend or playing baseball in the fields. Though this isn't much so far, as the story kept on progressing it began to be much more interesting.
