SETTING: In the chapter I'm currently reading Mark and Alec just got away from the "cult" like people, ran past the wildfire, and reached there camp. They have found that there is no one left there. They are surrounded by trees, brushes, and fire. At the moment the sky is "purple" and they can't see much apart from the glow of the fire. On page 140 it says "The sky through the branches above him was now purple."

VISUALIZE: At the moment Mark and Alec are trying to figure out who these strange people that they met in the woods. They are by many big mountains and trees. I visualize that it is just about to be 100% dark and the only way they can really see anything is from the big fire that the "cult" members keep feeding. On page 120 it says "They started dragging him down the slope of the mountain. Toward the fire"

SUMMARY: In the chapter I'm on Mark and Alex are locked in the storage room of the mystery berg that was flying above them. I think that Alex and Mark are scared but curious of what's going to be behind that door, is it going to be the security guards in the green? On page 25 it says, "Body trembling with what looked like frustration than fear" We don't know what's going to happen, but I'm excited to find out!

INCITING INCIDENT: In my book the inciting incident is when Hazel meets Augustus. In the book on page 9 it says "I glanced at him again. He was still watching me. Look let me say; he was hot." This shows us readers that Augustus is going to be a important part of the book; and he is. Before Hazel meets him she doesn't have any friends and so he really starts he life up after everything she has been through.

ARCHETYPES: I think that my story is a mix of tragedy and rebirth, Hazel the main character has cancer and no friends at all. On page 12 it says " My parents were my two best friends. My third best friend was an author that did not know I existed." Until she meets this boy in her cancer support group that is starting to turn her life around. These two reasons are why I think that this book is a tragedy and a rebirth.

SUMMARY: Minho, Newt, and more were put into a maze as children because they were thought to be immune to a tragic disease that struck worldwide, Thomas how ever was different smarter. The creators wanted to test something by putting him in the maze and that when everything when wrong. They all escaped the maze and ran to find a Safe haven, but as they are on their journey they run into a group called the cranks.

VISUALIZE: The book I'm reading right now is filled with many mental images. James Dashner is really good at describing what he is picturing in his mind and making it come to life. On page 113 " His shoes crunched against the gritty dirt and rocks, breaking the silence. He sniffed the raw smells of desert mixed with a distance scent of something burning," This is just one out of many mental pictures in the book.

MAKING CONNECTIONS: The connection I have is between this book and a song called "Take My Mind" by WizTheMc. I think that this song reminds me of the Maze Runner series because the book is about a world built for the characters. The characters mind is in a separate world that is constantly being built/changed for them.

CHARACTERIZATION: I think that my character Thomas is a courageous, determined, and curious soul. He is intelligent and always thinks deeper about things that the people that surrounds him. He always feels the need to be apart of things along with helping. On page 33 Thomas says "what does wicked really want" This shows the curiosity and intelligence that Thomas is gifted with.

The antagonist of my book is a group of people called WICKED. WICKED wants to find a cure for a virus called the flare, but they are hurting people called "Immune" in the process. On page 16 it says " WICKED or whoever had done this to them- to distance them from the real people they'd stolen from real mothers and fathers."

STATIC VS DYNAMIC: Thomas is a static character, the book starts off where he only knows his name. He is not aware what happening and knows nothing about his past life. He is trying to calculate what is happening around him and is very puzzled. On page 1 it tells us "My name is Thomas, he thought. That..that was the only thing he could remember about his life" This evidence supports that he is a static character.

CHARACTER VS CHARACTER: In this book Percy is on a quest looking for the master bolt, to return to Zeus. Percy doesn't know it until the end of his quest, but his conflict is against Ares. Ares is throwing problems at Percy the whole time, making it more difficult for Percy. In the book it says " You were there, I insisted. You gave me the backpack. You put the bolt in the backpack."

PREDICTIONS: At this point of my book Percy is in the empire state building and is trying to go see Zeus to return the lightning bolt. I think that Zeus is going to give Percy a hard time, and question him about how he got the bolt along with other questions.

POINT OF VIEW: In my book Percy is telling the story in 1st person p.o.v . I know this because on page 229 it says "After that I must have fainted, or fallen into a trance, because when I opened my eyes, Ares was gone." In these sentences, we are in Percy's head so that makes the book in 1st person p.o.v.

PROTAGONIST: The PROTAGONIST of my book is Percy Jackson himself. Percy is a black haired boy with sea green eyes. He recently found out that his dad is Poseidon and was accused of stealing Zeus's lightning bot. So him and his friends are on a quest to steel back the bolt,and are hitting many challenges. Percy is a sarcastic and funny boy but can also be sentimental.

SETTING: My book takes place in NYC. Before Percy finds out that he is a half blood he lives in the city. When he later finds out that his is a demi God he starts to live in the country side of NYC. he lives in a big house also known as camp half blood. Percy is about to go on a quest to the "UNDERWORLD" and he is leaving in the morning/mid day.

I think that the book I'm reading is both historical and fantasy fiction. Even though this book talks about the Greek gods it still has stuff in it that is clearly fake. The Greek gods are something that we learn about in 6th grade social studies, so I think that it is qualified to be under the historical fiction genre. The book has stuff that didn't happen in real life, that makes it historical fiction.
