The saga of a Chinese Malay family in Malaysia in the first half of the 20th century. Yep, colour me emotional about this book. It's brilliant so far - I miss Malaysia!

So what I've learnt so far is that businesses in the West are scaremongering about China in order to frighten their workers into accepting lower wages, and also all this panic about China in general is heavily coloured by racism. This is pretty old news! Since Hutton is a respectable white Establishment journalist whose expertise in economics is high, let's hope people actually listened to him.

I've got a different edition (stolen from the school I currently work at, muahahaha) where the title is Twilight Robbery! That title is a million times better than Fly Trap.
