Leila came out to Ms. Taylor after promising to not tell about Ms. Taylor and another teacher's relationship

she meets some girl who is the same race as her and shes giving off big lesbian vibes which is good for Leila I guess. and now Leila is joining theater for her.

Leila has a friend named Greg I think, I honestly don't remember, but he likes her and she doesn't. they somehow still had some sort of make out sesh though, its confusing because Leila is a lesbian and she literally says that

The character Leila was sitting in English class and we were getting an introduction to people in the story like,

One of Welles' friends was concerned for Welles because they didn't remember which tower he worked at and from his angle he couldn't tell which one got hit. He took a picture of the towers and the smoke enveloping it and said that it took him years before he was actually able to develop it because it would bring bad memories.

I finally got to the part where the plane hit the tower and the author is putting a bunch of people's perspectives that are of people important to the rest of the story or were important to Welles.

Welles saved his friend burns from getting in a fight with a psychopath without knowing that crork was a psychopath yet.

Welles fought a kid who picked on him and then he barely got picked on again. he also started playing hockey and proved to his coach that he could be a leader. then his dad finally let him be a junior volunteer for firefighting.

I learned that Welles was given a red bandanna before church and grew up to be a very athletic and passionate kid. I think he's going to be the one with the red bandanna. he also was very interested in firefighters and helped his dad around his job when he could. in middle school Welles got picked on for being under 5 feet though which he didn't really like.

the book was talking about some town called Nyack and the fire department there. then it started talking about a family who moved closer to their church and how this little boy Welles wanted a to wear a tie with his Sunday best suit.
