Xie has set out on his first task to earn merits to pay for his destruction on ascending. Can already start to see other deity’s who are with and against him ascending for the third time. Can feel the tension between them all despite them working together for the emperor. Looks like the mountain monsters could be an issue for this first task, so looking forward to seeing them in action.

Already enjoying it after reading the Prologue. Piecing together a new world and the book has already got my imagination going. Completely different to any book I’ve read but so far but I like it!

Found this book outside the flat on the floor in the rain so was going to dry it out then put it in a street library. But after noticing it was rated 4.5 on goodreads I thought why not give it a go. Nothing like anything I’ve read before. Either I’ll love it and want to read the next volume or I’ll finish 5 pages then ditch it 😆

Slowly building up to the finale! Not sure what’s going to happen but at least one of Nina, Bobby or Miles will end up dead.

Starting to ramp up, Bobby vs Miles, Bobby 1-0 up with the kidnap and Miles’ ex could be in a bit of trouble too?, but it could go either way!

Keller being watched was a twist I didn’t expect! Will see if he can get out of that one. Nina and Bobby seem happy in love, but for how long? The Nina, Keller link I feel could lead to a twist but not sure what just yet!

Big shooter scene which rocked the book a bit and Bobbys first interaction with Keller draws the stories together. Looks like Keller doesn’t know who Bobby is despite the past but Bobby is seeking revenge by the sounds of it.

I like Nina’s character, very mysterious, still can’t get a read on her!

Nina seems to be playing them both so will be interesting to see which side she is actually on. Miles and Bobby coming face to face, can only imagine one will come out of that alive!

Can’t tell if Miles is a good guy or a bad guy! But it will be interesting to see what he does with the murderers.

The books picking up a bit more now which is good. Flicking through the characters can get a little messy and working out who is who, and who is working for who etc can be a lot more confusing. I like the characters though, could’ve had their own books maybe.

Was a bit of a slow start and felt a little all over the place but I stuck with it. Now picking up so hopefully will start to draw me back in!

Wasn’t a massive fan of the start of the first chapter. Got into it by the end, not hooked yet thought but it is still early days!

Found this book in a street library, sounded good so I thought why not give it a go. Small author from Auckland so never heard of his books before. Prologue so far seems good, met a couple of the characters, let’s see where it goes from here!

Tom! The loving, caring husband, is actually a master liar and manipulator and is likely to be the killer! And now he has just found Rachel and Anna in the garden, I don’t know how he will react!

Anna and Tom seem suspect! But why would the want to kill Megan? What happened the night Rachel blacked out?!
Scott attacking Rachel too, she is having a horrific time! Was Scott capable of killing his own wife? Maybe. It seems obvious it’s him but I feel like there may be a twist

Anna is turning into Rachel! Jealous and reverting to drink. I still have no idea who the murderer is 😆

There is something suspicious about Anna and the blackout story, she must have been involved. Tom is jealous too and the golf club memory seems a bit fishy. Anna constantly wanting the police involved to keep Rachel away, is she worried about something she’s trying to hide. I don’t think it’s the therapist. Scott and Rachel shouldn’t have slept together. So much to think about! But right now, Anna is my No1

Megans body has been found, but who is the murderer? Rachel having flashbacks from her blackout of getting into trouble with the red haired guy on the train and Anna was there too. I have no idea, it could be any of them!

Could it really be the husband? Ended on a bit of a cliffhanger with Scott dragging Rachel into his house! Tension is rising.

What did Rachel do during her blackout? Will we ever find out?

Was Rachel’s drunk night, where she blacked out, anything to do with Megan going missing? Sounds suspicious but too obvious.

Enjoying the different characters perspectives between Megan and Rachel. No idea what drunk Rachel has done and looking forward to finding out but she really needs to sort her life out!

Introduced to Rachel, the girl on the train, and she definitely seems to have issues. Sounds like her ex Tom split up with her for Anna and now she sees her old house daily on the train. Some obsession with Jason and Jess too. Very interesting book, how it’s all set on a train so far. Curious to see where this goes!
