Getting gooood. It’s weird reading a book after Ive watched the movie. It’s also weird reading the book after I’ve watched a movie I LOVE and have seen 600 times. It’s also seemly quite boring because of that. There are no surprises. I am excited to read book 3 & 4 because those are my favorite movies and are more action packed

I can’t believe I just got through sorting hat… I’m over a third done and yet I feel like there’s still so much to happen. I can’t wait to watch the movie again and pay attention to timing and the changes they made.

I’m loving the detail. The first two chapters paint such a modern detailed picture than the movies do. Even just the first two monitors of the movie had way more dialogue. Uncle Vernan’s perspective of the day and how everyone was celebrating. Ugh I know I’m going to love reading this series.

I also think it’s funny that this dude’s idea of fun is to go on kayaking date with her when they’re on a boat with gorgeous/fancy (I’m sure) restaurants. Like take her to dinner. You want to take her kayaking? Strange. Also why? Only bc of the hickey?

No shot neither one of them have ever given/gotten a hockey before. How vanilla are these people! She dated that Jack wagon for years and never once got a hickey or gave one???? Crazy. I did think it was funny no one knew what it was lol

Hmmm. I’m not sure how to feel. Cooper is very flirty and she’s just like “oh he’s kidding”/not even paying attention. This other dude clearly gives zero fucks about her. He didn’t know who she was… which that’s a bold face lie. It hasn’t been that long. It’s been maybe 10 years… she’s 26. Come on. Harmony is crazy but I kind of love her lol

Okay. We are boarding the boat!!!! Mr. Man shaved and looks fine in his little vest. I can’t wait to see where this goes. I know for a fact her first kiss was with him and not that older boy. I like it so far! The writing style is strange. A new paragraph almost every sentence it seems. I don’t mind it though. Makes it seem like the book isn’t actually as long as it looks

I really like it! I have 100 pages to go. Read nearly 300 in two days. I love Kennedy’s world building. She’s such a descriptive writer so he helps set the scene in my head so perfectly. I’m at thanksgiving & They just started dating for real, dad’s girlfriend is def being abused. I’m interested to see how it ends & what misunderstanding is going to have them break up b4 the ending back together trope

I remember why I love Elle Kennedy’s writing. It’s so effortless. The inner monologue is my fav type of content to devour. I hate books with the narrator’s outside perspective. I like to be engulfed in their minds & be pulled into the story. I get very invested in her characters. I feel their emotions and even at a cheesy part I feel the clarity & authenticity. I read 207 pages in one day… unheard of for me

I really like this book. I’m beginning to understand why they adapted it into a TV series. It has all the makings of a good, banter-filled, sexual tension book and I’m here for it.

Okay. Sister moving? She’s not really in it, which I guess is fine but l think this is why I don’t like books that toggle back and forth between perspectives. You cut out a lot of side characters and their arcs
