This book is bringing me back into the series; the lawyer is my new favorite character. He's hilarious!

This is a fun one! It reads like "Firefly" with the classic Rebecca Thorne coziness.

This book so far is cozy and "fruity"! It feels melodramatic at times, but the concept is still fun. A young ex-cult member, who is they/them, buys a cheap farm and discovers that it is haunted by its previous elderly owner. On their first day, they meet a handsome baker and charismatic bard man who should just date already, as well as a lovely paladin gal who works at the library and makes the MC's heart race.

I'm halfway through the series as it stands right now. I forget just how enjoyable this book is during some slumps where I don't feel like having to pay attention, but I always get drawn back in when I force myself to listen to something other than a junky podcast.

For some reason, my brain had to work hard to understand what I was reading for the first few pages; and not because it takes place in Italy. It's getting funny and I'm enjoying the silly interactions between the two main characters. It makes me think of my interactions with my husband's family in Hungary; hilarious language misunderstandings, different cultural habits, and trying to blend in with your host family.

Choosing to listen to an audiobook over a podcast shouldn't be as much of a struggle as it is. Podcasts are like candy to my brain, while audiobooks can help build my listening skills; maybe I just need to pick a different candy?

Oops, I accidentally started another romance (audio)book. This one is also campy, and the conflict is "I want to get rid of this demon I accidentally summoned, even though he's somehow the nicest (and kind of the dumbest) demon in the world. Also, we're already betrothed". But the author has brought in some tea that should actually create some tension and conflict... We'll see.

So far this is a chill book to read, but every interaction between the two main characters is my least favorite trope: miscommunication as the conflict. They don't even let each other finish their sentences, then get mad at each other because what they said could be (and is) taken the wrong way. I enjoy the premise, though, of two bookstore owners fighting to keep their own stores open, then they fall in love.

In my experiment to read bestsellers and new, popular books I come across at work, it's been proven time and time again that these books are popular for a reason. I've only just started this one, but as someone who's a fan of recent-ish history (this book takes place in the 1960s) and family shows like Andy Griffith or The Dick Van Dycke Show, this book is intriguing.

This book is like a trainwreck: it's sad to read but you can't look away. It's well written and makes you think about a topic that is thrown around a lot, especially recently, but not generally understood by the masses. This isn't a book about homeschooling itself, but instead a glimpse into the life of a boy named Stefan who grew up under the grips of an emotionally abusive, overbearing, and narcissistic mother.
