The third act breakup scene is so forced. Lucie is freaking out about nothing and Graham said a line that can be taken a different way. They were doing so good but alas, the dumb third act breakup always happens 🙄 I don’t get why authors ruin their characters by creating obvious drama that came out of nowhere.

So far this book is SO CUTE! It’s a bit of self discovery and learning to love yourself so it’s beautiful. I’m scared there’s gonna be a fight or miscommunication between our lovely main leads. They’re so cute and I want them to get together so badly!

Elspeth is a wonderful character!

Alice STOP BEING STUPID and following a random, shady character and ignoring the warning of the person who has been helping you 🙄 you’re obviously going to get in trouble and I’ll have to be like “wow I never saw this coming” 😐

I hate Alice and Peter both. Elspeth was wronged by them. They are pathetic clowns who gave up half their lives to save a villain. And then tell Elspeth that they betrayed her and that she should understand? And then Alice PATHETICALLY grovels at Peter and honestly I think Peter could’ve been more cold towards her. I really don’t like Alice at all.

Alice is honestly a morally terrible person. Stealing the idea of the only person that has been kind to you in hell AND saved you and provided food and shelter?? What a bitch. She’s becoming a more irritating person more and more into the book and I’m worried I won’t finish the book because I won’t be able to stand her.

Maybe it’s the narrators voice but god Alice sounds pathetic

I’m so fucking frustrated I could cry. Why is Koen such a dick?! I get that he’s the stoic alpha and whatever but it’s unnecessary and I don’t think I’ll forgive him for it even if he begs on his knees. And his ex girlfriend? A truly egotistical bitch. And I bet she’ll get away with it too because this author created weak female protagonists who don’t know how to stand up for themselves.

Ok so far LOVING the slow burn. I have some problems yeah but I think k we’re finally at the good part. I will say I was nervous - like REALLY NERVOUS - about starting a 36 hour audiobook. I still am nervous. There’s so much left to do and we’re barely 2/3 through and I’ve already been listening for 22 and a half hours. 13 and a half to go! Knowing me I’ll finish it tmrw 😜

Also her family is INCREDIBLY self centered. After all the crap that happens until that last 85% I would be livid if I was the main character. I can’t believe how much her family takes advantage of her. It’s insane

I do love the idea of the book. I really do. My the MC is pissing me off. I’ve never seen such a “everything is my fault even things that have nothing to do with me are my fault”. It’s exhausting. Idk if I’d read this again or recommend it to anyone.
