Not even 1/4 of the way through and it has me crying. Great.

I started this a few months back but it didn’t grab me. My taste has changed a bit since then so I’m hoping for better luck this time around.

Ok you know how in Lady in the Water M. Night Shyamalan casts himself as a prolific writer whose book literally changes the world (leading the internet to give him deserved flack)?

Yeah this book is kinda doing that and I’m wondering if the author ever saw that movie lmao

I have never cackled so hard as I did when reading the hostess tell the gross teacher parading around with a minor that he makes a great dad bahahah

Yessss I have been anxiously waiting to get this from the library. From what I’ve seen, I’ll either love it or hate it. Fingers crossed

I love it when a book lives up to the hype and keeps me up late because I can’t put it down 😭 it’s worth the exhaustion

It briefly got good and now it’s back to stale. At this point I’m finishing it out of spite. For a book heavily recommended in the magical realism space, I don’t feel like there’s much at all :(

I really don’t want to DNF because I’ve heard such wonderful things, but it is just not clicking for me so far. The writing is good! But it’s very slow to start.
