Perry Mason says that a couple of generations ago, lawyers were "stuffy people". Now (1952) he says that there is a "new and more flippant generation". We said the same in the 70's too. Every generation thinks they invented fun! 😂

I ended up liking this more than I thought I would. I'm a little tired of the trend of storytelling from different perspectives and different times. Each chapter reveals one more clue, blah blah blah. Despite that, I had a hard time putting this down as I enjoyed the characters and the story.

The writing was much more descriptive than most detective novels I read. At first I was feeling too impatient for these details, but it didn't take long for me to relax and enjoy the characters and story, told at its own pace.

I didn't finish this book.
