Getting bored

Obviously predictable. I prefer guessing at the outcome. Suspenseful in a weird way; I hate to be entertained by someone else's suffering, just not my style. Written well, a bit too much description for me but I think that's the point the author is trying for - to capture what it must be like, how the characters must feel. I might prefer reading a true story rather than made up based on true, tho not really my taste

Routing for Blackthorne but not sure how - do I want him to escape, or remain samurai, or to be sent away to return as primary trader? Where did the main 'fight' stem from - why are the 5 daimyos fighting - power, religion, cultural preservation? I never knew about this presence of Christianity in Japan; even though I lived there for 6 years. I wish I'd read this before I went.
