I have taken to this book as if looking for some good in the main character, and I really don't kmow why since I have already read a synopsis of the ending. Either way, Raskolnikov seems to be like any other desperate, poverty stricken deadbeat who sees the hustle as the way out. Stange how the archetype transcends time and culture.

2013 e-artnow unabridged Constance Garrett translation. 978-80-7484-954-1.

I am listening to this book with audio, but checked out the Penguin Classic version from the library for a short time (not long enough to finish it) and thought the Penguin Classic version was better. Along with history and background about Dumas (you might be surprised as I was) it gives a real vibrant life and understanding to 16th century France and lends enlightenment about Dumas's methodology.

Very enlightening perspective about human social hierarchy especially as it relates to where we stand in the work place.
