Not worth finishing.

The device of switching back and forth between the two main characters does not help this story. The character development is weak and unbelievable. It goes to unnecessary extremes making the interactions tedious.

I am so not liking this book. But I loved the NewsFlesh series…

Reminds me of another great book, Monster Blood Tatoo. With overtones of Leviathan. And it’s a mystery. I’m in heaven!

Ok. Cinderella and the Little Mermaid had a baby.

Oh. It’s a take on Cinderella. Love it!

Choppy with a storyline that’s heaving all over the place. I think it could have used a talented editor to rein it in. Not giving up on it just yet…

Bess. Horror story with believable historical overtones.

This story is rich wit detail and emotion, all set against the backdrop of a unspoiled new world. What an amazing movie this would make!

This book is amazing! It will grab your attention and drop you into a time when America was unspoiled and new and dangerous. The girl is a survivor! I love it!

DNF. I don’t like religious mania—finding it tedious to read about and annoying to see the results of forcing faith on others. I will take a break and try again in a few weeks.

This is an unexpected good read! Quirky, well-developed characters for the most part. And the twists and turns!

NGL…this book is kind of tedious. Not liking any of the characters and kind of bored with their back stories and issues…

Meh. This could have been a better book with stronger, well-defined characters. Everyone is tepid and bland like an anime rom-com. It’s formulaic pablum that makes money but never satisfies.

Not off to a good start. Heroine is major dim-witted and weak sauce. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ gets a major clue but blunders around like a bull in a china shop instead of engaging wetware.

There several story arcs to keep track of but BS is doing a pretty decent job of making the threads understandable. I’m hooked.

Religion. Why is there always religious zealotry???

Not as funny as her earlier work.

Meh. Kinda formulaic but I feel committed to see how it ends.

Premise is good. Execution not so much. Dragons, magic, battle…but the characters and dialogue are 2-dimensional. The main character, Violet, has the potential to be a bookworm turned bad-ass. Unfortunately, she’s an emo drama queen who seems unable to read the room. The gratuitous sex scene was tedious and formulaic…going on way longer than necessary.

Not worth finishing. This new Jack Reacher is soft, clumsy and dumb as a box of rocks.
