I love this book

I really like her animism take on objects as a way to respect your belongings

writing is not great but the concepts are solid

this book is best sipped and savored. his hijinx are delightful, but cloying and syrupy when washed down by the pint. I suggest reading each chapter with sufficient time to linger on its aftertaste

have to take a break bc i ODd on a reread and was brought to tears on Witch Hazel, A Mother's Work, and The Consolation of Water Lilies. As always, Wall Kimmerer is a beautiful essayist and so deeply captures the rich intertwining embrace of grief and love, loss and birth, through her relationships with her family- biological, human, and otherwise
