This book is destroying me. I feel so much for so many characters in this book, and my feelings stretch further out into our present world; thinking about the real-life horrors many women face in our cruel world. I am going to finish it today (3rd day reading it), and I am reading it in the daytime (it is 12:30 pm right now). A cautious word to the wise: please do not read this at night. I even have calming music on.

This is the darkest book that I have read so far and I cannot put it down- what does that say about me? I feel like reading really dark human stories that could be true stirs something very raw inside you that produces such a gutteral and candid reaction that is rather exhilarating. Like a break from boring real life for me, and that I can consume it in the safety of my own home. Woof. What a ride.
