This book is magnificent in describing environments, characters inner thoughts and captures their very feelings, I love it. I’m very lucky to have an amazing girlfriend who sent it to me!

I’m still getting used to the style, liking it more and more as I do. Are the waves a metaphor for life? I feel a little dumb asking that, it’s a very shallow thing to ask but the last sentence gave me that impression. I love it!

This book is unlike anything I’ve ever read, I’m enchanted and love it!

The introduction was very nice to read especially about Cervantes’ friend giving him writing advice, what I’ve read of the story (albeit very little) is incredible.

Dantés separated from his lover by an envy, de Villefort separated from his by greed. Their fathers- both separated from their sons by a Corsican.

His name is de Villefort, he is a villain to the main character and sends him to a fort. Ville-fort. 🫩

Every chapter ends like a car teetering on the edge of a cliff, then a cut to black. The suspense is palpable.
