Why do I feel like I've already read this book before and that I did not finish it? As soon as it started, I knew exactly what was going to happen but now that I'm a third through, I don't remember how it ends. I'm not loving the story, it's awkward and contrived but so many people love it and recommend it I feel like I should keep going. I like these authors and the other books I've read of theirs but I dunno.

"laugh out loud funny"? That's what the description said but so far I find this book tragic and sad. Yes, it has good banter but all of which is under a dark cloud of serious issues.

Ugh... I just can't get into this book! I love this author and her other books are some of my favorites. Maybe I'm just not in the right headspace for this one today.

Didn't realize this was part of a series. I now know I'm headed to a cliffhanger which I'm not excited about. I like the book, it's not my usual genre but it's fun!

Not what I was expecting but in a good way. Strong start, can't wait to read more.

Second witchy book of the season 💜

Im not sure Ive ever read a book this slowly before. Murder mystery is not my usual genre and I cant tell if Im savoring the twists and turns or if Im chunking it up into managable pieces. Im throughly enjoying the book, the writing style is weird and this far in, Im still learning things about the characters. I think I know where the story is going but Im 100% sure that Im wrong.

Im trying to save this book for a long flight I have coming up but I keep picking it up and thinking, "just the prologue", "okay just chapter 1"... I need to hide my kindle before I read the whole thing. Instantly hooked and this isnt even a genre I usually read.

Im going to have to put this in the "putting it off" pile. It starts off with neglected children and my heart just cant handle that right now. Returning to the library tomorrow.

I live this book series and looked forward to this book for a while. So far, it doesnt disappoint. Reading on audio at 1.25x speed and the narration is good.

Impulse pick up at the library and i only have it for a 7 day borrow. Im not a Patterson fan but I love holiday books. Time will tell if this will be a DNF or a fun holiday read...

First two short stories were good. I'm listening on audio while I drive and the narration is good as well.

Currently hating the turn this book has taken. I know it will swing around soon but right now it's ugly and sad.

I havent been able to pick this one up again after pausing a few weeks ago. Its dark and sad and Im not sure Ill finish it

Im really enjoying this book. It started slow but right now Im bummed that I have to put it down and make dinner!

A promising, if slow, start.

I missed reading this one last year when it came out and I'm glad I have time to read it now. Love this story.

My audio book auto returned before I could finish it. Im okay with that because I think this needs to be read on paper. The audio version was okay, i just didnt get drawn in the same way I was with the prior ebooks. Love this trilogy.

Sheer stubbornness and lack of audio book options right now is the only thing keeping me reading this book. I look forward to being done with it so I can start a different book. Really i should have returned it unfinished and picked out something different but i just wont let myself. Ive read other books by this author that were better. Im giving up on the series after this book but not the author.

This is a series with a lot of books available on audio with my online library and I have a lot of driving to do this fall. I really hope I enjoy this series! It's not starting out great but I remain hopeful.

Yayyyy!!! Im so excited to read this book! I put it on hold on my online library a long time ago. I didnt think Id get to read it this soon after the release date but its available! I love this series and cannot wait to listen to this audio book on my commute tomorrow.

Really strong start. I just blinked and i was on chapter 6.

So far this is one of the better books Ive read in a while. I have both the ebook and audio book from my library and both formats are good. I appreciate the good narration on the audio book.
