O pai de Amir tem uma expectativa em cima do filho de que o menino fosse igual a ele, mas na verdade Amir é ele próprio com suas próprias peculiaridades. Os filhos nunca são continuidade completa dos pais, não importa o quanto eles queiram que seja.

It’s kinda sad to see the pressure Emily faced regarding the “salvation” aspect. She felt like she needed to be a christian but yet she couldn’t “give up” on everything for it. Makes me wonder how she’d feel if she lived in a place where religion wasn’t such a strong part of society, but at the same time it was an important aspect her character’s construction.

Intrigued to see some of the religious questions Emily had… regarding heaven, the feeling she had to be saved but wasn’t and eternity itself.

I got to know Emily Dickinson through the Apple TV series “Dickinson” and until now, reading this biography, it’s been thrilling to see how Emily’s parents were so thoughtfully portrayed to the maximum the series could possibly do and, at the same time, set up an authentic tv show. Besides, it’s fun to see the personality traits Emily kind of inherited in herself due to watching her parents’ ones.
