This book makes me sad.... =(

woah.... I can tell this is going to be shocking

Low-key confused of who the narrator is haha and who's who in general but loving certain passages.
"...memory...a fact that has been subjected to a fixative... is really a form of story telling that goes on continually in the mind and often changes with the telling".

In a nutshell this feels like summer at you sorta-friend's Grandma's House

This is by no means a bad book; however, it reads rather slowly despite the increasing suspense. Definitely the type of book that slows you down to its pace, a languid read meant for summertime. I'm both desperate to reach the ending to know what happens and desperate to move on before I begin to slump. Although, I have a feeling all the excitement will occur in the lats 10pgs and then I will sing a different tune.

This is actually a slight challenge to read. Not so much what the story is about but the references are deep and the repeated themes are intentional. I am grateful to expand my reading level - this requires reading in depth the footnotes and archaic vocabulary from the Victorian era.

The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there.
