Guevara is a much, much better story teller than I ever would've imagined. It's honestly hard to believe this is a diary.

KILL JUNIPER HAYWARD

Honestly, and I hate to admit this, but I sometimes catch myself being on Juniper's side, even though I don't agree with her nor do I like her. And that's only because her haters—even though I do agree with them almost all of the time—are just a little too annoying. That aside, I am really enjoying "Yellowface" so far, and I canNOT wait for Juniper's downfall.

My God, every single time I am hesitant to start an especially long chapter, it always ends up worth it, when I finish it. "Flight," "By Candlelight," The Great Ball at Satan's," and just recently "The Extraction of the Master," all these chapters have been so worth it. I can't believe I'm still hesitant to start long chapters in this book, when they have proved time and time again that they will be great.

Very interested so far. I'm not sure if I'm entirely HOOKED yet, but I'm certainly intrigued. I appreciate the unique prose, which—I'll admit—did take me a bit to get used to. I really like the horror—though it doesn't scare me, per se—it makes me feel quite uneasy. I am very excited to see what is to come, and I believe this novel will prove to be a great read to start the new year.

Absolutely loving it. I'm so intrigued. The Black Cat is named after the monster, Behemoth, in the book of Job, and I have thoughts on this. My first thought is that Behemoth, in the Bible, doesn't resemble a cat whatsoever, so that leads me to believe that Behemoth (the char. in the book) has the ability to shapeshift... but this could just be Bulgakov taking names form the Bible and using them loosely.
