Honestly how does this book even exist?

The more I read this, the more I'm convinced that no one can complain about Asian names being difficult. So many of these characters have similar names AND multiple iterations of their names.

Also I think there are two or three guys in here with the same name. Either that or someone died twice and the other guy still lives. Or all three are dead? I'm not sure anymore

It seems that I only read such beautiful prose in the month of October because this time last year, I was blessed with The Night Circus and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. This year, I get The Shadow of the Wind 💕

I want to make every guy in my life read this. I want them all to understand what it’s like to be a woman and to always be doubted first. I want them all to not shrug it off or make light of it when I say I have little reason to trust men.

This book makes me angry and want to cry at the same time.

I’m only a chapter in and I’m already angry at how Brock Turner all over again. Angry at the system that let him get off so easily.

This is really making me want to stumble into some lowkey dangerous mystery and fulfill my Murderino dream of solving it

Am I supposed to dislike all the men? Because I do. The one who was actually good in the beginning is now bordering on awful. Well, the women aren’t too great either. Olivia and Hannah are the only ones I like at the moment.

So.... is it bad that I already want the best man dead for being a sleaze? For goodness sake, a 19 year old girl shouldn’t be ogled by a man in his thirties

It’s...okay? I’m not super invested and I wish we could actually have more clues during the murder mystery dinner cause I’d like to solve it. Hoping it picks up in the second half

This book is great. Not as cinematic as the Netflix show, but the bones of the story are strong

I'm so glad this is the book I'm ending the month with. I have my suspects regarding who the culprit is, but no motives so far.

I’ve just started this and I already like it better than my last three reads combined
