Huge news, Henry is so obsessed with finding the book shop because he had seen it and been inside it before! Just like the woman who Martha’s employer told us a story about!

As for Opal, she had to flee Paris after her brother found her through the papers. She arrived in Dublin only for her contact to have passed away before her arrival. Fortunately his son, Mr. Fitzpatrick was kind enough to after her a place to stay as well as a job taking over his late father’s shop.

This book is really good! Henry and Martha are currently at odds, they aren’t arguing but they have a growing attraction that each of them keeps pushing away. Apparently Henry is engaged BUT I think he could do better *cough cough.

Henry and Martha have formed sort of a friendship and a little bit of a budding romance, they definitely are attracted to each other at the very least! It’s very cute. As for the main story, they haven’t discovered much else about the bookshop. Though Martha had discovered some deep cracks behind her dresser that she doesn’t recall being there before. Very mysterious.

Also, previously, Martha’s employer told her of a story where a woman had entered a bookstore believing it to be the employers home only for the store to disappear, leaving the home in its place. Side note: During this conversation I’ve found that I really like Martha’s employer. She reminds me of Madame from the Disney movie The Aristocats. Lol!

I’m really liking these characters and the world building. I especially love Henry and Martha’s dynamic, the way they bounce off of each other. They’ve also been “introduced” to Opal through old manuscripts Henry discovered while searching for this mysterious bookshop.

So, Henry and Martha are in the same time period. Opaline is from London, 1921. Henry and Martha have met twice now, the first time Martha had mistaken him for a peeping-tom and most recently they went for coffee where Henry told Martha what it is he’s looking for. Meanwhile, Opaline, who I’m going to call Opal for short, has found herself as an apprentice in Paris while escaping her family’s arranged marriage.

So far so good, nothing to really note yet. I enjoy the characters and they each have a few similarity’s. The major ones being that they each have a place that is homely but not their home and a love for books. Each character has a good hook and I’m interested to learn more, particularly about Henry.

Just completed chapter 2, it was a much longer chapter than expected. I’ve come around to the MC, not that I like him, I learned this character is writing in past tense. That these thoughts, feelings, and actions are acts of a younger brazen man. (Not that this excuses any of the MC’s past actions) Over all, I find his story interesting but nothing I’m on the edge of my seat for or have any urgency to read.

I just finished chapter one. It’s very different from my normal reads and so far I truly dislike the MC, though I think that’s intentional. My only true complain is the weighting, it feels very jumpy and is hard to keep track at times. There were a few quotes I liked that are saved in parenthesis on page 4, 17, and 19.

So far so good, I enjoy the characters however the beginning feels a bit rushed. I'm surprised how quickly Ben recognizes and immediately shows interest in her after Addy was supposedly dumbed or the relationship ended abruptly and without explanation. Hopefully as the book picks up steam I will be more invested in their story.

I'm currently listening to the audio book. So far I am really enjoying this book. I love how, despite it being a dark romance, the book isn't heavy. It's refreshing to have a MMC who feels like a real person and is very comical at times. Nothing is far fetched and feels real. I am eating this book, I genuinely have no critiques. The characters, writing, themes, etc. are so good! Omg and I love Josh's pov!

I started the next chapter and as determined as I was to finish this book I just don't think I can do it. I'm at the point we're the overwhelmed amount of adult themes is just that, overwhelming. The book had potential and for a short time I found myself enjoying and genuinely interested in the book. Very disappointed.

Ew. Just ew. He finally found her and after they cleared things up he proposed. Instead of a cute heart felt proposal he ruined it by sex. I actually hate this so much.

Honestly, I've lost quite a lot of interest in the book. I'm not sure why the change, I do understand why so many people complain about the amount of adult content. I just feel really bored reading this.

Initially I was a little uncertain on wether I would like this book due to its themes and reviews. So far, I have found that it’s actually rather enjoyable. It’s so interesting reading from only Tyler’s perspective but able to see Poppie’s growth as a person but also within the religion. I also love how real his emotions and motivations feel.

Honestly, this book is better than I knew. I originally picked it up late last year when I was particularly hurting, in regard to my Nannies health, I wanted to read the Bible and picked this up by mistake. Every time I pick up this book, typically when in need of guidance, this book always delivers. Offering the word of god in a way that relates to my situation; so closely that it has to be more than coincidence.

Jack got caught by Chloe! Jack came clean about EVERYTHING and she pushed him away. Travis got in contact with Chloe, telling her to come in for a meeting, where he’d attempt to blackmail/sexually assault her. Thankfully, Jack saved her before things went too far. Chloe still pushed him away but found herself drawn to him (Literally). After a “chance” encounter at a coffee shop, they end up happily ever after.

Oh nooo, Chloe’s friend fucked up. 😭 Sloane let curiosity get the best of her and looked up Chloe’s adult account on A WORK COMPUTER. To make it worse, Tyler (the creep) walked in and now he knows about Chloe’s secret life. This could ruin Chloe’s career and has but her in the worst position, I’m so worried for her.

I love this book way more than I thought I would! I am so happy that Chloe and Jack are finally together and she knows he’s the WinterWatcher. Now I just hope when he tells her about his stalking that she can take it well.

I love these characters and the pacing! I really like how the story’s come together and is placing Tyler in a position where Chloe will believe he’s her stalker. Meanwhile, we know, Jack is her true stalker! I also love how we’re getting to watch Jack struggle as his obsession with Chloe grows.

(Note: I actually started reading this on my NOOK 12/21/25) Very cute romance, despite being a “dark” romance, Jack is such a sweet male love I treat. I love how he’s written so far and LOVE how he knows how wrong his actions are. How he actively tells himself it needs to stop but he just can’t bring himself too! It’s so refreshing compared to my typical dark romance books.

Love this! I’m finally starting to truly understand their relationship. And, despite the reasons, It’s so good to finally hear Cali forgive him. I hate that her bff is injured but thankful that Hayden gave this to Cali, the choice to go home and to see her best friend. Genuinely, Hayden just won some major brownie points from me.

I’m enjoying the book so far. Like the previous volume, I’m having a hard time with the pacing. I like how the book immediately picks up where it left off in the previous book and that Calista and Hayden are getting more personal interactions. Also, the after math of Calista’s injuries is amazing! I love that she didn’t magically get better over night and love how we get to see a more gentle side of Hayden.

Initially I was hesitant due to the flow of the fighting and I had a hard time trying to match a personality too these characters. However, the more I read the more invested I get in there story, particularly their relationship.
