Pony & Johnny got caught by SOCs at the park were the SOCs try roughing them up for picking up “their girls.” One of the SOCs held Pony under the water of the fountain, and in a desperate attempt to save Pony from drowning, Johnny stabbed and killed the SOC. Pony & Johnny decide to go to Dally looking for help to skip town. They’d get money, a gun, and told to lay low out of town.

Peter made it up the hill and Pax led him further into the woods where Peter would help fight off two coyotes from eating Bristle. Peter realized, after running the coyotes off, that Pax is where he belongs with the fox’s he’s friended. Peter lets Pax go.

Peter made it to the military camp where he’d find a fox leg that he believed was Pax’s. When his father found him their meeting was brief and Peter showed his father anger for having them leave Pax in a place he knew wasn’t safe. As he was telling off his dad Peter saw his Pax and followed him up the hill that was covered in explosives.

Viola sent Peter back to the house where he discovers a newspaper showing the place he left Pax is not safe from the war. Peter & Viola come to an agreement where she would help Peter get back to Pax but she must donate her puppets to the library, and teach children to use the puppets twice a week. As Peter gets on the bus to find Pax Viola tells him she’ll leave her screen door open and calls him family!

Pax and Bristle have been caring for Runt and chose to leave the river, Pax realizes Runt has also lost his hearing. Meanwhile Peter built a stage for the puppets and asks Viola to watch the show. When he did the show he didn’t play Sinnbad, instead he played his own story of a soldier that sets fire and emerges as a teacher. Referencing Violas personal experiences and a the story of a Phynox. 1/2

Pax returned to the river to try demolishing the wires to the explosives, as he’s doing this Bristle tries stopping him. She had followed him from the valley. During their scuffle Runt, Bristles younger brother, also followed. Bristle tried stopping Runt but in her attempt set off an explosive. When Pax found them Runt had lost a leg from the blast.

Peter’s choosing to take up wood carving. He is still set on his goal to find Pax but is starting to learn to live without him. Petter is starting to feel guilty about this so he’s reflecting on good memories of Pax and his mother.

Gray is injured from a previous fight so Pax has been trying to help heal Gray. Pax has been unsuccessful at hunting so he took the risk of stealing from the military camp. He was successful but when he returned the soldiers set off an explosion near the river where Gray and Pax have been taking cover. Unfortunately Gray was killed by this- Pax ran back to inform Grays mate and the other fox’s.

We’ve learned a lot about Vola, the woman helping Petter. She’s ex military, has PTSD, and creates puppets based on the story of Sinnbad- after finding the story on the body of an enemy she killed. Pax, it traveling with another fox: Gray. They’ve found a military camp and while scavenging for scraps, Pax finds Peter’s father.

Peter in his last chapter lost time by stopping in a town to take cover, as he left he managed to break a bone while fleeing a car. As for Pax, he survived the night & quickly returned to the road but he was very thirst. He was warned about an older fox but that fox turned out to be friendly. It warned Pax of war and informed him about what’s going on. Pax and his new friend are going to start traveling together.

I just completed chapter 3, as of right now Pony & the boys walked Cherry & Marcia home until the girls were picked up by their Soc boyfriends. Then Pony & Johnny accidentally fell asleep & Pony returned home way past curfew. Darry, in his angry, hit Pony. So Pony ran from home, where he met with Johnny & continued to run until they came to a stop. The chapter ends with a warning about how things only get worse.

So far we’ve been introduced to Pax the fox and Peter his human boy. We start with Pax being abandoned and Peter has been left at his grandfather. We learn a bit about how Pax became Peter’s pet, about Peter’s father and the war, and Peter has set out to find Pax. Over all, it’s a good start and the characters are enjoyable.

We were just introduced to Cherry and Marcia, I actually really like their characters and the way they’re written. I like how we’re able to learn more about the way socs and greasers associate and how we learn more about the past of these characters. It’s interesting rereading it and discovering or remembering things that you hadn’t taken notice of the first read through.

The rot is LITERALLY spreading through each realm to destroy everything. Saeris & Fisher told their allies about meeting the gods. Now they’re forming a plan to stop its spread. Also, Fisher & Carrion are heading back to Zilvaren, together! Lmao!! They’re going to find more silver & learn where the feeders are coming from. I can’t wait to see Saeris’s brother’s reaction to Fisher, haha!

Wow!! I’m so excited to read this!! Theirs a lot to unpack, first Saeris had visited Fishers sister where quicksilver spoke to her and after it made contact with Layne she woke up BUT it wasn’t Layne! It was Edina, Fishers mom!! She warned Saeris and told her to find a book and not to tell Fisher! Then, we discovered the Rot! The rot the gods were talking about to Saeris in the last book it literally rot! 1/2

Also, I LOVE chapter 7! Very spicy and much deserved after the hard ships they went through in the last book. I am LOVING Kindfishers pov! It’s so exciting, getting to read from his perspective!!

Love this! I enjoy how the book picks back up, I like how we pick up through Kingfishers pov because it shows that time has passed. I like how we’re watching the characters adjust into their new roles. I’m excited to see where the story continues, especially with the development of the feeders strength and how they’ll affect the plot.

It’s been a long time since I first ready this book, the characters are all very interesting and enjoyable. I enjoy reading from Ponyboys POV. I’m excited to re-experience this book, it’s one of my most memorable reads growing up.

Saris did it, okay not really, BUT she made serious progress! The funniest part is all she had to do was ask the metal! She was able to wield it into a new sword and return, I’m not sure if that’s the correct word for it, the magic too the weapons wielded! This is so exciting!

I love this book. Fishers so sweet and gentle. He’s hurting far more than I imagined. Sheri’s was so good and I’m so happy she stayed and that Fisher let her stay. I love these two!

OMG! I’m so right about Fisher being jealous! Apparently, before their dinner, Fisher took Carrion a pair of boots in exchange for Carrion to take a shower. Fisher told him that he dislikes the way Carrion smells. (Referring to Saeris’s scent!) Ohh, Fisher is so, ugh! I love him! Lol!

What’s interesting is that Saeris hadn’t been intimate with Carrion in 3 months, so Fisher can at least smell senses long past the human sense. On the other hand, it was Fisher who brought up the topic of her intimacy with Carrion, which makes me feel like I was right about Fisher being jealous!

Also, the argument before the attack was getting juicy… Fisher explained in a not-so-nice way how he got there sent mixed up in a rush. He had been specifically smelling for Familial blood *cough cough* which led to him smelling her on Carrion and assuming that was her brother in a rush.

I really like this part of the book. Their conversation started becoming very negative when their dinner was interrupted by an attack. Saeris got injured, but was saved by Fisher. He seemed so worried about her and the chapter ends with him carrying her out yelling for someone to help.

Than she spent her time in the forge where she learned that she will be stuck in this realm for a long time due to a deal she made where she must create the relics they need and then she can return home. Not knowing that she’ll have to make thousands, even though she has no idea how to do it, later we learn she’s forced to have dinner with Fisher. I really like this part of the book.

Oh my goodness, these chapters were so good! Saeris startes the chapter where we learned about Fishers youth, not much but that he was born and raised by Cahlish. After his mother died he was raised by Fire Sprites. I was a bit surprised by how Fisher willingly gave Saeris that information and she didn’t have to ask.
