Indo-Caribbean and Afro-Caribbean communities are separate in New York, one being centred around the Bronx, and the other in Brooklyn.

There are lots of english based creole languages in the city, but the largest is Haitian Creole, which became a “city-wide language” in 2008 and can be seen on signage across the city.
