I am currently on the history potion of this book, and it is blowing my mind that early Bible interpreters from 200 B.C. to 200 A.D. were so enthralled with allegorizing the Bible (because culture at the time was immersed in Greek mythology/ subsequent allegory) that it led way to the belief that only those in leadership were granted the authority to understand Scripture/allegories found within!
