I must be one of <100 middle aged men to be reading/have read this book. I’m Isaacs but if a sucker for this kind of chic lit as of page 150 it is pretty entertains but not great. also much of it feels a bit repetitive since there is not much action- very character driven so the descriptions of the characters involve lots of repeating descriptions every thirty pages or so. We will see what the last 100 pages hold!

I’m about 2/3 of the way through this book and while the writing is lush and beautiful it feels just a little too repetitive for me. I am perfectly happy to skim through the rest but without some added complexity (her relationship with her father is my favorite part so far), I am afraid I am left with a beautifully descriptive book that I find largely uninteresting except for the caliber of the food writing.
