So far this book has given me an interesting perspective about being a young back man in (relatively) modern day society. I have read better books about similar topics (Angie Thomas’ books). This is definitely more juvenile but it’s not bad.

So far I think I enjoy the movie more than the book but Stephanie Meyer does a great job of describing the environment.

I really like this book and the descriptions of drug abuse. I wish we got to hear some of Joey’s perspective but as someone with a family member who is an addict, I think hearing Emory’s POV is just as important and often left unheard.
