been reading this on and off for forever, but i am 100% finishing this tomorrow now that im at the cottage and have unmitigated reading time B)

big fan of this so far, it’s lowkey taking me forever cuz the book is tall and the font is small but i’m trucking through it LOL it’s very colloquial and “beginner friendly,” and fun to read

immediately HATEEE the prose (which is likely a translator issue, not the original author), and i feel like the book thinks i’m stupid, which is never a good sign for a mystery. however, it’s short, and i enjoy the use of floor plans, and the weird house thing is a longtime interest of mine so i’m gonna stick it out :P hoping i am pleasantly surprised later on

So far not what I expected (it’s more of an essay collection of anecdotes imbued with geographic knowledges than the dense urbanist theory I was predicting) but I’m still really enjoying it! I think it’s a nice start to my summer of geography self-study in prep for my masters application :)

ithica took me like 6 hours to read… only penelope left to go! surely there will be more than one sentence in the last 40 pages of this book

i finished circe and all i got was this stupid goodreads update
