The more I read this book, the more I realized how little rights women had back in the day and how the law always abandoned women and rarely helped them.

This book is going to make me cry. Cathy and Heathcliff are perfect for each other in all the worst ways. I have a few observations about the book that I wanted to get out, but I had typed them on my phone, and I'm on my tablet, so once I sign into Goodreads on my phone, I will copy and paste what I have written about here.

Nelly and the other servants casually abused Heathcliff all his life, and now, them getting worried that he is going to do something bad to them is such perfect irony 😭

I feel so bad for Heathcliff. He is constantly getting abused by the adults in his life, and now Cathy is staying away from him more because she wants to like ig fit into society

They keep calling Heathcliff an "it" 😭😭😭

I have finally started reading Blue Sky
I love Chell x Wheatley, and I've heard great things about this fic
The first chapter is pretty good - it is well written, but it is hard to understand at times

This book is genuinely gonna make me cry.

OMG. I genuinely have no words for those chapters. They were so filled with emotion; rage, regret and sadness. I feel so bad for Mercedes and I started to feel bad for Villefort too.
Mercedes deserves the world. I genuinely do relate to her in the way she is grieving. Her grieving Edmond, Morcerf, and her son leaving her.
I am holding back tears. I got so emotional over these chapters.

Is Mme. Danglars in love with Lucien? Like I feel like there is a very clear romantic implication between them that I wasn't able to pick up before, and now I do pick it up.

This book is so intense at times. I know Valentine isn't going to die, but omg, I'm still scared.
Also, if my theory of "Prince Cavalcanti" is Mme. Danglars and M. Villefort's lost son is correct...
And he is marrying Eugenie Danglars...
THAT MEANS THEY ARE HALF-SIBLINGS 😰😰😰
It's okayyyy Eugenie is VERY sapphic-coded, so I'm pretty sure nothing will happen.

I feel so bad for Mercedes and Albert. I lowkey started to feel bad for Fernand, and I'm conflicted about how to feel.
Besides that...
The Count and Haydee's relationship is making me really uncomfortable. Just a few chapters ago, he refers to her as his daughter, and now he is saying she is like a "second Mercedes."

Those last two chapters had my heart RACING out of my chest, omg 😭
I was terrified that The Count would die like genuinely and that he wouldn't get his revenge. I'm happy neither Albert nor The Count died.

HOLY SHIT?!?!? Okay, so uhhh, that happened. I can see that the counts plan is falling into place. I feel bad for Albert, honestly. He doesn't know his father is a bum. I saw one of the future chapters is called "suicide," so I think Fernand might kill himself.
