this story is very encapsulating so far…going between 1818 and 1976 is super cool. conversations on home, resistance, endurance, and resilience are heavy themes. also, family violence and dismantling racism are also threaded throughout. would love to read more on the connections between the ancestral Bible and how that’s impacting the transitions between time and space periods…

THE TENSION BETWEEN CANON & NEEVAH IS JUICY! what a tease so far. i love the fact that this book dives into the importance of history, storytelling, production, and answers critical questions on whose/which stories get told, produced, and projected and who’s standing in as the representative for significant parts of Black history.

romance. storytelling. production. spice.

i cannot wait to keep going.
