I'm so confused... Kai barely knew Adena why the flip is he wishing her a happy birthday like he's done it every year?? Hasn't it only been like a day since the end of the 1st book (including epilogue) and therefore only like a month since her death??

Good, but Orwell really jumped right in quickly after the book within the book (which was a mix of interesting and bland). Slightly weird right now, not 100% sure how it's going to end.

I appreciate the world building - it's obvious that Orwell took a lot of time to construct a world with different aspects.

I've been reading a few "classics" lately, and have been disappointed, but I hope this won't be another.

Kinda boring... like people are dying all that happens is that they die and then the other characters talk about it, it's just a bunch of nothing tbh

Never read (but have watched) agatha christie before. Probably just because I'm used to reading more recent novels, but I don't love the writing style - lots of exclamation points where they aren't needed, same with ellipses, and random out-of-place comments. I haven't got to the murder part yet but am looking forward to it.

Surprisingly good - not amazing, and some of the metaphors are slightly strange (trying too hard to get in those descriptive details) but I'm actually motivated to read it.

Just started, don't have super high hopes and seems predictable.

Definitely different from other books I've read, the author is doing a good job including life details just through letters, although I don't know some character's relationships with Sybil.

It's alright, lots of run on sentences that are kind of hard to follow, unnecessary descriptive language. Reminds me of Lord of the Flies, I wonder if all white men in the mid 1900s wrote like that.

It's been switching between boring and interesting.
If there's a love triangle I will be very upset.

John Green really jumps right in, it's different than other romance books but honestly I'm loving it, and I'm hoping I don't cry at the end (but I probably will because it's probably a sad ending).

The story is okay so far, but I don't like the author's writing style. She uses too many metaphors/similes to describe the setting. Detail usually enhances the story but it doesn't for this book. Example of a bad metaphor: "it looked like it would collapse if anything other than a steak dinner crossed it".
