I know this is setting the series up, but it’s not a riveting as a the second one I just finished.

I am curious, if you read a solid 5 ⭐️ read, you can’t put it down, feelings are engaged, and then one of the mmc’s makes a wrong decision that is written as a good decision.
You understand it, but find it wrong, does that affect your rating?
Just because my values differ from the character’s, it should not really affect a fantastic read? Can something only be good if we agree on all counts?

I am into this but I am however very concerned that they share a kiss in chapter 8 and he is all “anyone else who touches these lips will die” 🤦‍♀️ it’s just too juvenile, and too insta…. It’s a big 🚩 for me.
It’s a duology, we have ways to go, maybe build up their relationship first before showering me trope factory phrases.😢

I will give it one more chapter, otherwise it’s going to death by dual pov. I am being mollycoddled and spoon fed. The premise of both thinking the other cheated, doesn’t work when chapter 1 reveals neither did actually cheat. 1 conversation could have resolved all.🤦‍♀️

I am close to giving up on contemporary romance 😢 The writing bugs me, it’s spoon fed and there are no subtext or reading between the lines, it’s like reading in bright neon lights.
I feel the writers lost faith in us as readers and don’t think we can keep up.❤️‍🩹 If you have CR recommendations with great romance and writing, I would love to receive them.
