OMG. Our FMC has been keeping quite the secret!

I’ve unlocked a new microtrope I’m obsessed with: the MMC feeding the FMC soup.

Can a trope be a man showing a woman a huge library? Does me in every time.

“Take off his ring. I’ll get you another one.” Things have taken a turn and I’m not mad at it.

I’ve come too far so I have to finish this now, but some of these lines are so corny and really ruins the flow of the plot. “Am I being Gilmored right now?” About her mob family making her have family dinner once a month is such a cringe line🤦🏻‍♀️

I spoke too soon. We’re at knife in mattress. With disinfectant. WE HAVE FOREGONE ENDEARING AND ENTERED WTF TERRITORY.

This got weirdly endearing?

The FMC just head butted the MMC. I think I’m going to like this book.

I have no idea how to feel about this book lol.

She wakes up to her stalker having left her breakfast in her fridge and he shoveled the snow outside her house??! It’s like I stalk you but I’m an acts of service king. WHAT IS THIS😂

Also the MMC narration has grown on me, but the FMC one has not. She comes across very bland, he’s way more personable.

“But something about being with you flipped a latch. It’s like you expanded all this room in my lungs I didn’t know I had.” ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME THIS MAN😩

This book has me so stressed. EVERYONE is hiding a secret and I fear a betrayal is coming and I’m about to take it personally.

Also I love the FMC and MMC so much I need them to be okay my sweet baby angels😭

This book is giving me Crescent City Book 1 meets The Legacy Series and I am LOVING it downnn.

Her: “What happened that your ego is so deflated today? You need me to stroke it?”

This FMC reminds me a lot of Bryce from CC and I ride for my girl Bryce.

This story has taken a very interesting turn 👀

So I’ve basically highlighted all of chapter 31 and now I’m in a puddle of my own tears😭

“You’re a safe man, Emmett. I know that might not seem like the most glowing of compliments, but I promise you, you being safe is everything to someone like me.”

I am Reese and Reese is me. Easily my favorite FMC in the entire Windy City series.

The second half of this book makes up for the first half THANK GOD.

“With your stupid big body and your stupid big heart.” Why is this coming across SO cringe to me?! I cannot wait to finish this book so I can move on. It’s OKAY, but lacks so much depth.

This has been very disappointing so far.

1. I want to kill King Midas with my bare hands.

2. I want to climb King Ravinger like a tree.

That’s been the duality of my reading experience thus far.

I forgot how absolutely addicting MKR’s writing is. Hooks me right out the gate.

Loving this on audio so far. Still have ZERO clue where this story is going.
