Gaslighting: the novel

I honestly thought this would be an easy read, more on the side of pop history, but I’m barely in the introduction and the author is already building an analytical framework that is very layered and complex. It kind of reads like a dissertation so far.

I’m still not enjoying this but I’ve decided to finish it anyway.

I reject this book’s preaching as a whole, but Canto XIX of Paradise is especially gross.

Less than 100 pages left! (The rest is additional material, which will be much easier to get through.)

Sometimes I start reading a new Canto and I can feel my brain shutting down. That’s usually the sign I’ve read enough for today.

(My brain just did this with Purgatory XXIX.)

I said I would try to finish this before my book club meeting and I’ll be damned if I fail (pun intended).

I’m almost done with Inferno!

There are so many more references to Greek mythology than I would have expected, especially considering how this was written pre-1453.

They could have given this book 50 more pages and avoided us the tiniest font that has ever existed.
