This is the first time in my life (and likely the last) that I’ve ever contemplated a male character‘s misogyny and thought, “Yeah, that’s valid.”

Holy shit.

This just became even darker than anything I’d anticipated.

I take back what I said, there is content in this that would never be shown in any cdrama. I did not read the warnings before starting (and I still haven’t), but I would strongly suggest a sensitive reader to do so.

This genuinely feels like a (good) cdrama in book form so far, and I’m here for it.

I would probably be reading this faster if I weren’t annotating practically every page, but that’s just how it is.

Gaslighting: the novel

I honestly thought this would be an easy read, more on the side of pop history, but I’m barely in the introduction and the author is already building an analytical framework that is very layered and complex. It kind of reads like a dissertation so far.

I’m still not enjoying this but I’ve decided to finish it anyway.

I reject this book’s preaching as a whole, but Canto XIX of Paradise is especially gross.

Less than 100 pages left! (The rest is additional material, which will be much easier to get through.)
